2-1 to start the week with an easy NHL under and our first VIP Play on the new look Nets. Let’s see what we have for tonight to build on the 2-1 winning night last night.
Maryland / Michigan Over (140.5) – If you take a look at both of these two team scores, they would have scored 140+ if they played each other head to head in their last 4 games. To validate that “simulation” we can look back at when these two actually did play each other on 12/31 when they combined for 157 total points. Michigan shot 58% from the field in that game and they put up 84 points. Michigan has averaged 79.9 ppg and Maryland has averaged 73.7 ppg this season. I think we should get a similar game to the last time these two teams played and we should get 70+ from each team tonight. Over!
Avalanche (-1.5) – The Avs were a dud in their season opener compared to all of the hype that they came in with when they lost 4-1 to the Blues. However, they proved to everyone that the hype is real in their second game when they bounced back with an 8-0 win over the Blues. The Avs had 38 shots on goal in that game! The Kings come in to this one off of two straight over time losses to the Wild. The Kings were extremely sloppy in their first two games and gave the Wild 11 total power play opportunities. If they give the Avs 5 power play opportunities tonight, this game isn’t even going to be close. Let’s go with the Avs to cover the puck line tonight.
