2-1 for the third straight night and that makes us 6-3 over our last three days. We were a .5 a point away from a 3-0 sweep last night thanks to the Clippers who only won by 5 and couldn’t cover the 5.5! Let’s see what we have for our Saturday action.
NCAAB:
Marquette (-2.5) – In comes Marquette, 17-3 on the season and winners of 6 straight and that 6 game winning streak started on January 6th against Xavier who they will be playing today. Marquette won that game 70-52 in a game that was never close. Marquette played great defense in that game and held Xavier to a 31.5% field goal percentage. Since then, Xavier has gone 2-2 and they have lost their two most recent games. Xavier just lost to Providence and Marqutte just beat Providence by 11. I know Xavier has the home court today but looking at the recent head to head matchup and common opponent, I think Marquette takes care of business on the road today because they are clearly the better team.
Kansas / Kentucky Over (144.5) – Both of these teams come into this one hot, Kentucky has won their last 5 while Kansas has won 4 out of their last 5. Both of these offenses are elite and they are both averaging 80ish points per game. One trend that really sticks out in this one is the total score results for both of these teams when they play a Top 25 opponent. Kansas has played six Top 25 opponents and 5 of those games have gone over 144.5 with the average total score being 156. Kentucky has played four Top 25 opponents and 3 of those games have gone over 144.5 with the average total score being 161.75. Sure, these teams both play defense and are allowing 70ish points per game but when they play Top 25 ranked opponents, 80% of those games have gone OVER 144.5. Loving the over in this one.
NBA:
Warriors / Celtics Over (230.5) – Nothing like cheering for an over on a Saturday night. The Warriors and Celtics will square off in a prime time matchup on ABC tonight. Both of these teams come into this one hot – the Warriors have won 9 in a row and the Celtics have won 5 in a row. The obvious stat throughout their winning streak, specifically the last 5 games for each is that they have been lighting up the scoreboard. The Warriors are averaging 131.4 points per game in their last 5 while the Celtics are averaging 116.4 points per game in their last 5. Over is 230.5 so we need a 116-115 finish and that shouldn’t be a problem for these two offenses who will be putting on a show tonight. Get your popcorn ready and take the fucking OVER!
