A look back at the VIP picks from yesterday - 3-0 with a 🔨
NFL: 8:15 EST Ravens (-3.5) - JACKHAMMER - First off, let’s ask ourselves why the Ravens are only favored by -3.5 in this game? Got it, because they are on the road. How have they played on the road this season? 59-10 win over the Dolphins, 33-28 loss to the Chiefs, 26-23 win over the Steelers, 30-16 win over the Seahawks, and 49-13 win over the Bengals. So they have played some bad teams on the road this season but the win over the Seahawks IN Seattle is a very impressive performance. The Ravens have the MVP on their side in Lamar Jackson and he continues to get better every week. He has thrown for 7 touchdown passes in the last two games. This Ravens team has reeled off four double digit wins in a row with three of them coming against teams who will be in the playoffs. The Ravens have outscored their opponents 90-20 over the last two weeks. The Rams have not looked as impressive. They are coming off of a game where they snuck by the Bears and they lost to a .500 Steelers team the week before that. The Rams have the home field advantage tonight but they lost to the 4-7 Bucs on their own turf earlier this season. How have the Rams done against mobile QBs? Jameis Winston - 385 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, Rusell Wilson - 268 yards, 4 touchdowns. That’s a good sign for us that Lamar Jackson is going to have another BIG game against this Rams defense who has struggled against mobile QBs. I like the Ravens to cover the -3.5 without any issues, I personally feel like this spread should be -7.5.
NBA: Parlay: 7:30 EST Celtics ML / Lakers ML (+104) - The Celtics return home from a five game West Coast road trip where they lost 3 of the 5 games including one against this Kings team that they will face tonight. The Celtics shooting was off in that game and they had 15 turnovers yet they still had a running layup at the buzzer for the chance at a win before the ball rolled off and they lost 100-99. The other two losses on the trip came to 2 of the top 3 teams in the Western Conference and they battled right to the end of both of those games. Friday night’s game was an impressive performance after their top scorer was taken off on a stretcher and they got back in the game before losing in the end. Kemba’s injury isn’t as serious as it looked to be when it happened but he is still doubtful to play in tonight’s game. I still like the Celts in this game tonight. They have played good team basketball and good defense which makes me confident in them to beat this Kings team tonight. The Celtics have not lost a game at home this season. The Kings will be on the second night of a back to back and the only other time they were in this situation this season, they lost 113-81. The Lakers have won 7 in a row and 9 of their last 10 games including the first two games on their current road trip. They will take on the Spurs who have lost 8 of their last 10 games. The Lakers already beat the Spurs 103-96 earlier this month. Lebron and AD combined for 46 points in that game. I’ll take the better team to win this game straight up tonight. Great value at plus money for these two 5+ point favorites.
Stars (-125) - The Stars haven’t lost in regulation in a month. They have won 10 of their last 11 with 7 of those wins coming by 2 or more goals. The Golden Knights have been struggling and they have lost 9 of their last 12. Ben Bishop will be in net for the Stars tonight and he ranks Top 10 in goals against per game (2.25) and save percentage (.926). I’ll take the Stars to stay hot tonight against a Golden Knights team that has struggled lately.
