2-1 last night with Blackhawks and Red Wings going over 8 when the line was 6.5 and the Bruins come through in the end of a thriller at +130 on the moneyline. We continue to dominate NHL and it’s a great feeling after the slow start to the season we had and the mediocore ups and downs in NHL throughout December and January. Plenty of action tonight with a nice slate of NHL, NBA opens up the second half of the season tonight, College BBall, and PGA. Let’s see what we have for tonight’s picks.
Spieth over Knox (-170) – These two tee off at 12:50 est so you only have a few minutes to get this one in but those of you who check the blog early will get a bonus with this win today. Spieth is ranked 41 in the FedEx rankings compared to Knox at 184. They both have similar numbers so far this season but from the history and the rankings, Spieth is clearly the better golfer in this matchup and that’s why we are paying the price we are on the moneyline. Risk 1 unit on this.
Blues (-130) – Franchise record 11 wins in a row for the Blues and the way they are playing we are going to ride the hot streak with them until they let us down. They had over 40 shots on goal in their last game, I love me a team who throws the puck on net – good things happen! The Stars come into tonight’s game losing 4 of their last 5 and the Blues beat them 3-1 in their last meeting on Jan 12. Ride the Blues like a fucking wave.
Lightning (-1.5) – First thing I’ll note on this one is that the head to head trends don’t check out for this but this moneyline is a bit of a stretch to play even if it’s a 10x jackhammer. Just so you know, the Lightning are 1-2 against the puck line in head to head matchups with the Sabres this season. However, and it’s a big HOWEVER, the Lightning have won and covered the puck line in 6 straight games while the Sabres have lost by 2 or more in 4 of their last 5. The puck line is paying even money and the moneyline will be around -300 before the puck drops in this game tonight. That’s A LOT of juice to drink and I don’t know if our bellys are big enough. Let’s stick to the beer tonight and take the puck line at even money.
Kings / Predators Over (5.5) – Another over on NBC Sports tonight, it’s hard to not take it! The Kings have lost 5 straight but 4 of those 5 games went over 5.5 with total scores of 9, 10, 7, and 6. The Preds are coming off of a 5-3 win on the road against the Stars and that was the same score they bet this Kings team earlier this season. When I started writing this pick up my fingers started to burn a bit and I’ve checked our recent over history when the Preds are involved – we are just 3-5 this season betting overs in Preds games. I don’t care about those trends though, this matchup has over written all over it and it’s paying +120 odds.
