3-0 last night with a +133 and a +135 hitting! That was a nice recovery from Thursday and that’s now 5 winning days in our last 7. Sometimes you just have to “float it” for the win:
Sometimes you need to get a little lucky in sportsbetting and battling it out in double overtime with Russell Westbrook fouled out after blowing a 10 point lead in regulation, we got a little lucky with Paul George’s floated but I’m completely fine with that! Let’s roll it into today!
Virginia (-5) – Something seems off to me with this spread. Louisville is just 2-4 in thier last 6 games and they are coming off of a 20 point loss to Syracuse. Virginia is a much better team than Syracuse so the Cardinals will be in for a challenge today. Virginia’s defense travels and they have a 4 game road winning streak coming into this one with 3 of those 4 games against Top 25 teams. The Virginia defense will slow down this Louisville offense that is averaging 76.3 points per game this season. 23-2 against 18-9 should be a no brainer. This one tips off at noon est.
Syracuse (+190) – Ok, first things first on this one. Wait until later in the day to lock this one in since the game doesn’t start until 6 p.m. est. Let’s make sure that Zion is actually not playing before we take it but all of the reports point to him not playing. If that’s the case, JUMP ON THE +190! Duke was exposed in their last game against North Carolina when Zion went down right at the beginning of the game. When I say exposed, I mean EXPOSED. Duke went on to lose 88-72 without their best player. Go figure. The best part about this pick is that Cuse already beat Duke this year when Zion was playing and that game was AT Duke. Cuse will have the home court advantage tonight and the Carrier Dome will be rocking! They are coming off of a 20 point win against a good Louisville team. The second best part is that 70% of the public is on Duke moneyline in this one. Let’s GO CUSE!
Islanders (-130) – The Islanders will be on the road tonight to take on the Canucks who have lost 4 of their last 5. The Islanders haven’t been playing great as of late but they have been better than the Canucks. The Islanders are 2-2 in their last 4 and one of those losses was against a very good Flames team. The Islanders dominated the Canucks in their first matchup this season back on Nov 13 when they won 5-2, outshot the Canucks 34-24, won the faceoffs 30-23, and won the turnover battle. I am expecting the Islanders to take control of this game tonight and get a win against a Canucks team who has been struggling.
Avalanche (+165) – Huge payout on this one but I really feel this one is well worth the risk. The Avalanche recently experienced an Avalanche of their own by losing 8 games in a row but they have snapped out of it and they have now won 4 of their last 5. They have also scored 12 goals in their last two games alone. To recap, the Avs have beat the Jets twice, Blackhawks once, and the Knights. Their one loss came to the hottest team in hockey, the Blues. The Predators have won 3 of their last 5 but I wouldn’t say they have been playing great during that stretch. They are coming off of just a 2-1 win over a bad Kings team and they lost 5-1 to the same Golden Knights team that the Avs beat 3-0 two days after. The Avs are on a road back to back but I think the +165 is worth a shot.
Panthers (-175) – Can anyone remember the last time the Kings actually won a game? Feb 7 so it’s been 16 days since their last win and they have lost 6 in a row. The thing I really like about their losing streak is that they have allowed 3 or more goals in 5 of those 6 losses. The Panthers have scored 3 or more goals in their last 4 games while going 3-1 in that stretch. Big price on the moneyline in this one but totally worth it, just risk 1 unit not 1.75.
Celtics (-6.5) / Rockets (+13) – The Celts will be on the road playing the Bulls who they have beat two times this season by 29 and 56. Ok – nothing else needs to be said about that matchup. Then we have the Rockets teased up to 13 in the late game on ABC when they take on the Warriors who they are 2-0 against this year winning by 1 in overtime in their last meeting and 21 earlier in the season. I don’t think the Rockets will win this game tonight but I definitely think that they will keep it close and I don’t see them losing by more than 13.
Arizona Hotshots (-4.5) – This is one where you just hope this new league isn’t setting us up for fixes but Arizona comes in 2-0 against Salt Lake who is 0-2 and Arizona already beat Salt Lake 38-22 in week 1. Salt Lake struggled on offense last week only scoring 9 points while the Arizona offense continued to look impressive in their win over Memphis. I’ll take the 4.5 in this one and if some how Salt Lake comes out and blows Arizona out I’ll be crying that this league is rigged. Let’s hope it’s not rigged and Arizona’s high powered offense runs away with this one for us.
