2/9 VIP Picks

Yikes 1-2 on the night but the two losses really hurt. Two hockey teams averaging 10+ goals in their first two games against each other and they put up 3 total last night. Then the Warriors waited until the 4th to turn it on and they only win by 10. The only good news is that there’s a huge slate of games for a big bounce back day today.

NCAAB:

Kentucky (-4) – Kentucky comes in 19-3 and they are the 5th ranked team in the country. They will go on the road to play Mississippi State who are having a good year and they are 16-6. However, Miss St has lost 3 of their last 5 and one of those losses was against this same Kentucky team that they will play today. Kentucky won that game by 21 – 76-55. Kentucky has been playing great defense and they have held their last five non Top 25 opponents to less than 60 points. Look for the defense to take over against Miss St today and that should allow Kentucky to pull away in this one.

NHL:

Flyers – (-1.5) – The Flyers have won 8 of their last 9 and the one loss came in overtime. They will host a Ducks team today who has been outscored by 20 goals in their last 5 games. The Ducks have now lost 6 in a row and 18 of their last 20. You bet against the Ducks when you can bet against the Ducks.

Sharks (-145) – The Sharks have won 4 in a row and three of those wins were against really good teams – Flames, Jets, & Capitals. They will play an average team tonight when they go on the road to play the Oilers. The Oilers have lost 6 of their last 7. These two teams played one month ago and the Sharks won 7-2. Look for another easy win for the Sharks in this matchup tonight.

PGA:

Gooch over Hearn (-185) – Two days in a row? Let me hear it GOOOOOOOOCH! He has beat Hearn by 5 strokes two days and a row and there’s no reason to think he won’t have a similar result today. 12:25 est tee time so make sure to get this one in!

NBA:

Hornets (-2.5) – The Hornets are up 2-1 on the season series against the Hawks and both wins were by 10+ points. The Hawks have lost their last five games against teams with winning records and the Hornets come in just under .500 at 26-28. I like Charlotte in this one.
