Solid day yesterday!! Looking to carry it over into this week. Let’s take a look and see what we got today:
Nationals – The Nats bats have never seen Kenta Maeda. Gio Gonzalez will be pitching for the Nats and he has held the Dodgers to a .160 avg and a .221 slugging % in 131 at bats. Those are very good numbers and I like the Nats in the match up.
Red Sox – backs against the wall and on the verge of being swept, Big Papi takes the field with his career on the line. Personally, I think that Rick Porcello should be pitching tonight even though he got knocked around in game 1. BUT, our boy FUCHOLZ will take the ball and he has been solid as of late. He has lost to the Indians twice already this year and allowed 4 and 5 runs in those games. Here’s why and how the Sox win tonight. The bats come alive at Fenway just like they did all year. They will match up against Josh Tomlin who has held the Sox bats in check in the times he has faced them. One thing you should know though, David Ortiz has 3 homeruns and 6 RBIs against Tomlin in a small sample size. Ortiz is the hero tonight and the Sox live to fight another day.
Cubs/Giants – Bumgarner/Arrieta – NO RUNS IN THE FIRST. Heavily.
Cubs/Giants – Bumgarner/Arrieta – under 6. I’ve got to go with the under with these two guys stats and history in the post season. This one should be a very good pitchers duel.
