New Years Eve – I hope you guys all have a great time with friends and family but make sure you are safe! I’ll be tailgating at Gillette and then spending New Year’s out at Patriot Place. Here’s some just for fun over unders for my New Year’s Eve:
First beer O/U 10 a.m. – I’m taking the over, parking lots open up at 9 a.m.
Shots of fireball at tailgate O/U 5 – I’ll take the under, I want to make it until the ball drops at midnight.
How long my wife and sister stay at the game in the 15 degree weather – O/U halftime – I’ll take the over but barely.
Last week of the NFL season is always sketchy to bet on but let’s take a look at some of the games that actually mean something.
Bills (-2.5) 4x footballs – The Bills need to win to have a chance at getting in the playoffs. They will also need the Ravens or Titans AND Chargers to lose. I don’t see the Ravens losing or the Chargers so the Bills probably won’t be getting in. However, all of these games are at 4:25 so there won’t be a let down in the Bills locker room before the game by seeing one of these teams winning. I think the Bills will get the win in Miami and cover the (-2.5). They just played the Dolphins two weeks ago and got the win 24-16. Dolphins have lost two in a row and I can see them packing it in for the offseason.
Bears (+12) 4x footballs – The Vikings will be playing this game because they need the win to secure the 2 seed. There is a scenario where they could fall out of the 2 seed but it’s unlikely. Look for them to show up for this one but I do like the Bears to cover the (+12). The Vikings won the first meeting between these teams 20-17 earlier this season. Look for the Bears to hang around in a defensive battle.
Teasers: play in groups of 2-3.
Saints (0) – a win seals the NFC South and a home playoff game in the Wild Card round. Who dat nation is ready for a home playoff game. The Saints get the win today.
Chargers (-1) – The Chargers need to win and the Titans to lose to have a chance to make the playoffs. I’m confident the Chargers will do their part.
Jaguars (+8.5) – they are locked into the 3 seed so this game doesn’t matter for them as far as the standing go. However, if I was the head coach of the Jags, this game would mean a lot to me to get my team back on track after losing to the 49ers last week. Look for the Jags to play this game like it was a middle of the season game and cover the (+8.5).
Seahawks (-2.5) – Seahawks need to win and the Falcons to lose to the Panthers. Seahawks cover the (-2.5)
Bears (+18) – that’s a lot of points against a team that beat them by a field goal last time they played.
Last NFL Sunday of the year/season. Enjoy it boys!
