The latest edition of the FIX features two games that were blatantly fixed last night. Celtics vs Grizzlies and Duke vs. Virginia Tech. Oh yeah, you guessed it, we were on both of these games. Let’s take a look at the details of each game and you can be the judge if the fix was in or not.
Celtics (-12) vs Grizzlies
Celtics come out and absolutely dominate in the first half taking a 67-41 lead into half time. At this point it looked like it was cool to just change the channel and watch a more interesting game because this one was completely locked up, right? Wrong. The script is flipped in the second half and the Grizzlies outscore the Cs 28-19 in the third. At that point, it still seemed like the Celts wouldn’t have a problem covering the 12. Sure enough………..down the stretch the Grizzlies crawl back to cut the lead to 13. And then with 12.5 seconds left, Brice Johnson goes in for an uncontested SLAM and brings down the house plus all of the hearts of the people who had the Celts (-12). Final score – Celtics 109 Grizzlies 98
Duke (-5.5) @ Virginia Tech
Another game that things looked fine in the first half and it wasn’t a blow out but it seemed as though Duke would cruise to a win and a cover. Again, WRONG. Virginia Tech outscores Duke 37-30 in the second half. BUT THERE’S MORE. Duke didn’t make a shot from the field in the last 7 minutes of this game. Lol. 5th ranked team in the Nation doesn’t hit a shot in the final 7 minutes of a close game. They also had 4 turnovers in that same time period. Virginia Tech takes the lead with 4 seconds left and wins the game by one. Virginia Tech was so over matched in this game that the spread really should have opened closer to 10. Sometimes, it’s sickening to watch sports games because you can tell that things are happening that shouldn’t and you know that there’s a higher power keeping it close until the end when the underdog makes a “miraculous” play and ends up winning the game.
2 fixes. 1 Monday. It’s looking like it will be a good week.
