4/3 VIP Picks

Tough loss on Michigan last night, it would have looked bad if I won my own pool anyway right? Congrats to Mike & Joe - 2 VIP members who won 1st & 3rd place. Baseball went 2-1 last night and we have some good matchups today!

Nationals (Cole) (-126) ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️ - really good value here for a team that had hit Teheran well. They have a .311 avg and .555 slg% in 164 at bats. Bryce Harper has hit 7 homeruns against Teheran. “Overrated” boom, homerun Harper. That happened Sunday for anyone who missed it I’ll try to get the link to tweet. The Braves lineup only has a combined 12 at bats against Cole and they’ve had success but it’s a tiny sample size. Give me the Nats at this value.

Cubs (Lester) (-172) ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️ - when you take this one, make sure you put it in based on Reds pitcher Cody Reed getting the start. You want to hear some EYE popping numbers? Reed was 1-8 with a 6.75 ERA in 2017. He faced the Cubs one time last year and lasted about as long as I’d last with Mia Khalifa. 2 innings and he allowed 7 earned runs. If the Reds were expecting an improvement this year, they are disappointed with the Spring he had. He allowed 20 hits in 12 1/3 innings with a 16.20 ERA. So why aren’t we taking the (-1.5)? The Reds actually have just under a .300 avg against Lester in 167 at bats. Love the moneyline even though it’s pricey.

Angels (Richards) (-133) ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️ - more value here and I’m sure you guys are shocked my first two picks of the day aren’t Sale, Verlander, or Kershaw. Don’t worry. This Angels lineup has a .338 avg in 68 at bats against Tomlin. They burnt us last night but they should bounce back tonight. Richards will get the ball for the Angels and he has held the Indians to a .216 avg in 51 at bats.

White Sox / Blue Jays Under (9) ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️ - I really like this play as long as Gonzalez and Happ get the start. Gonzalez has held the Jays lineup to a .179 avg in 78 at bats while Happ has held the White Sox lineup to a .189 avg in 53 at bats. On top of that, these pitchers have only allowed 3 homerun in 131 at bats. This one screams under to me as these two starters have really dominated the opposing lineups. Grab this one early because the 9 will come down as we get closer to game time.

Astros (Verlander) / Red Sox (Sale) (-101) - Aces, great matchups, even money. Verlander has held the Orioles to a .227 avg in 181 at bats with 64 strikeouts. Sale has only faced 5 Marlins hitters but he has held them to a .182 avg in 44 at bats with 17 Ks. The Sox offense came alive last night and scored 7 runs. Look for a similar outting from Sale tonight when he takes on another rebuilding lineup. He allowed 1 hit on Opening Day. This is the play of the week 🚨.

Bruins ML 🏒🏒🏒🏒🏒 - (+105) as dogs in Tampa tonight against a team that they have dominated. Definition of dominated - when you are 3-0 against an opponent in the current season. This game doesn’t officially clinch first place for the Bs but pretty close. 57% of the money coming in on the Lightning but I’m not sure why. The Lightning’s best player Steven Stamkos is battling an injury and there’s a 99% chance he doesn’t play. This is a big game but Tampa would rather rest him to get healthy for the playoffs. The Bruins will finally be healthy on the defensive end. I love the Bs as an underdog tonight and I don’t see how they lose this game.

Devils / Blue Jackets 🏒🏒🏒🏒 - (+101) and the Blue Jackets owe us for the cock tease that they put on us on Saturday. Both of these teams are closing in on playoff births and they will be taking on bad teams.

The lack of NBA picks is due to the unpredictability of what teams motives are in the final week or two of the regular season. Tough spots tonight and not really worth it when we have so much opportunity elsewhere on the diamond and ice.
