5/1 VIP Picks

The ol 2-2 split last night. Arrieta fucked us, simple as that. Good slate tonight across all three sports so let’s get it!

MLB:

Brewers (Anderson) (-123) Double - The Brewers get to face the Reds and they get to face Homer Bailey who they have a .302 avg in 116 at bats against. Ryan Braun has gone deep 4 times against him. Anderson has held this Reds lineup to a .246 avg in 57 at bats. The Brewers went on a little losing streak over the last week but they got back to winning last night. I fully expect them to get the win tonight.

Braves (Newcomb) (+158) Single - I’m not swinging for the fences on this one but I do like the Braves history against Syndergaard. They own a .377 avg in 53 at bats against him. The Braves scored 3 against him in 6 innings just over two weeks ago. Since then, the Mets have had some issues with their bullpen. If the Braves can get a couple runs off Syndergaard early, this ones got a hell of a payout. Newcomb will start for the Braves and he went 6 innings allowing 2 earned runs against the Mets a couple weeks ago in this same matchup against Thor. Give me the Braves as underdogs tonight.

Angels (Tropeano) (-180) Triple - The Angels have a .329 avg & .576 slg% in 85 at bats against Alex Cobb. Cobb has struggled in his first three starts of the season going 0-3 with an ERA of 13.11. I think the Orioles would be better off putting Machado on the mound. Look for this Angels lineup to be aggressive and attack early. They run away with this one easily.

Parlay - Nationals / Red Sox (-119) Homerun - so we have Scherzer and Sale pitching tonight in two good matchups. The Pirates lineup has a .213 avg in 47 at bats against Scherzer with 17 strikeouts. The Royals have seen Chris Sale A LOT but one stat that really sticks out to me is that this lineup has a combined 271 at bats against Sale and they only have 3 homeruns. CUE the Lil Wayne Music 🎵 I AINT GOT NO WORRIES! 🎵

NHL:

Jets / Predators Over (5.5) 🏒🏒🏒🏒🏒 -  Game Two played out much more as we expected with 9 total goals scored. The over under is set at (5.5) again tonight and once again, I’m on the over! These two teams played two games in Winnipeg this season with 9 total goals scored in one and 11 total goals scored in the other. The Bell MTS Place will be full of energy tonight and I think that leads to another high scoring, entertaining playoff hockey game.

Nba:

Cavs (+6.5) 🏀🏀🏀🏀 - The Cavs are 7-2-1 against the spread in the last 10 games against the Raptors dating back to last season. The Cavs also won 2 out of 3 against the Raptors this season. I know LeBron said he’s burnt out after Game Seven against the Pacers but I think it was his floor burn from flopping. After a day off, I like LeBron and the Cavs to show up tonight and cover the (+6.5). I wouldn’t be shocked if they won this game outright, they are (+220) on the moneyline.
