5/7 VIP Picks
3-2 last night and when you feel disappointed after going 3-2, you know you’ve been on a good run. Travel day for MLB so a small slate but there’s double barrel action for NBA & NHL.
MLB:
Nationals (Strasburg) (-160) - the Nats came back and walked off for us yesterday. They will be taking on the Padres tonight. Strasburg has held this Pads lineup to a .206 avg in 63 at bats. The Nats bats have a .295 avg in 44 at bats against Tyson Ross. I like the Nats again tonight.
NBA:
2 team teaser:
Cavs (-1) / Celtics (+10.5) - LeBron has crushed any hopes that “The North” has and he took all life out of them (if there was any left) with that buzzer beater in Game Three. I don’t see any way the Raptors come out and win tonight. However, after the Cavs failed to cover (-4) last game, teasing it down to (-1) tonight makes me more comfortable. As for the Celts, tease it up to (+10.5) is a super cushion for a team who has won 8 of the last 10 straight up. The Celtics could win this game tonight but I think Philly will take it. They better drop the confetti when they do win because they won’t get a chance to drop it again. This series will be over on Wednesday in Boston. With that said, no way the Celts lose by more than 10 tonight. Tease me with a teaser on a Monday!
NHL:
Predators / Jets Over (6) - 7 of the last 10 games between these two teams have gone over 6. I’ll take my chances tonight in Winnipeg where these two teams have absolutely lit the scoreboard up this season. The Jets have the 3-2 series lead and all the momentum after a 6-2 win in Game Five. I think the Jets close it out tonight but I think we are looking at a 4-3 or 5-4 kind of game.
