Max Scherzer able to watch Stanley Cup Finals in between innings thanks to DH rule

Max Scherzer started against the Baltimore Orioles last night and since it was in Baltimore, the DH rule was in effect. This meant that Scherzer didn’t have to worry about hitting and was able to watch Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals in between innings. He had to have been throwing back a cold beer while watching too right? Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, and John Lackey would be proud. I don’t care what he was doing in between innings, he went 8 innings allowing 0 runs, 2 hits, and had 12 strikeouts.

The Nats organization and their fans shouldn’t be worried about this. I know, some people will say he’s not supporting his own team by cheering them on while they hit. Chill the fuck out, I’ll take 8 scoreless innings of support any day and you can do whatever you want in between innings. The fans who are upset about this should be more upset with the fact that Bryce Harper is supporting Vegas since it’s his “hometown team” that didn’t even exist when he was growing up.

The Nats will be home in Scherzer’s next start on 6/5 so he will have to hit but luckily that’s a scheduled off night for the Stanley Cup Finals. #ALLCAPS
