1-1 last night although I know a lot of you didn’t log in in time to get that Yankees parlay yesterday. I also went back and forth with a lot of you during the Caps game and know that was a big play for a lot of you since there was such a small slate of games last night. Who’s going to Delaware today to lock in legal bets? DM me if you’re going!
Cardinals (-1.5) (Martinez) - The Cardinals will take on the Marlins tonight who have lost 5 in a row and haven’t covered the -1.5 in 4 out of 5 of those losses. Martinez has held this Marlins lineup to a .152 avg in 46 at bats. Jose Urena will start for the Marlins and they have lost all 12 games that he has started this season.
A’s (Manaea) (-135) - Decent price for a team taking on a starting pitcher who is 1-5 with a 7.85 earned run average. The A’s will be taking on Matt Moore and he’s been bad this season, there’s no getting around that. This A’s lineup has a .333 avg in 48 at bats against Moore. Manaea will start for the A’s and he’s held this Rangers lineup to a .212 avg in 85 at bats.
Yankees (Sabathia) (-155) - Sabathia has always dominated the Blue Jays and he’s held this lineup to a .222 avg in 185 at bats. The Yanks will take on Marco Estrada and although their .255 avg in 208 career at bats isn’t over the top impressive, their homerun totals are. This Yankees lineup has 21 career homeruns against Estrada. Stanton 4, Sanchez 4, Austin 3, Didi 3, Judge 2 (and due after 8 Ks yesterday), & Walker 2. That’s 6 out of 9 in the lineup who have MULTIPLE homeruns against this guy. Look for the Yanks to hit a few BOMBS tonight.
Rockies / Reds Over (8.5) - both of these lineups have great success against the opposing starting pitchers. The Reds have a .382 avg & .765 slg% in 34 at bats against Freeland. The Rockies have a .360 avg & .480 slg% in 25 at bats against DeSclafani. I think both lineups will continue their success against these pitchers tonight and I like this game to go over. The Rockies have gone over 8.5 in 9 straight games and the Reds have gone over 8.5 in 11 of their last 12 games.
“Kof, what about Scherzer & Kluber?”
Staying away from them today and I’ll throw you guys the cauition flags on these two. First of all, both moneylines are way too much. Scherzer against the Rays lineup seems great but surprisingly, they have a .444 avg in a small sample size against him. On top of that, Nathan Eovaldi will start for the Rays. It’s just his second start of the season but he went 6 scoreless in his first start. As for Kluber, he’s 8-2 this season. However, his last loss came on 5/8 against the same Brewers team that he will play today. Am I saying there’s no chance that these guys win? No way. I’m just cautioning against betting them today with the price that you’d be paying for some sketchy matchups.
