3-1 in MLB last night but the JACKHAMMER losing hurt big time. MLB JACKHAMMERS are now 5-2 this season so still 71% but anytime one loses it stings! We have some good matchups today so let’s get it!
White Sox (Giolito) (-110) - This is looking like a good value play today. The White Sox lineup has a .397 avg & .692 slg% against Jordan Zimmerman in 58 at bats. Those are eye popping numbers. On the flip side, Lucas Giolito has held the Tigers lineup to a .179 avg in 28 at bats. Great value on this one paying just under even money.
Nationals (Scherzer) (-1.5) - 10-2 meets 3-6 in this one and I’m not talking curveballs or sinkers, I’m talking records of the starting pitchers. Max Scherzer is 10-2 with a 2.00 earned run average and he’s held this Jays lineup to a .218 avg in 101 at bats with 24 strikeouts. The Nats bats have been hot and have scored 5 or more runs in 5 of their last 7 games. They will take on Marco Estrada today who they have a .298 avg in 47 at bats. Nats should cover the run line in this one.
Braves (Newcomb) (-1.5) - It is a great matchup for us to take advantage of. The Braves have a .370 avg in 46 at bats against Jordan Lyles who they scored 8 earned runs against last Tuesday when they won 14-1. 14-1! Sean Newcomb will pitch for the Braves and he also pitched last Tuesday when he held the Padres to 0 runs and 3 hits in 6 innings. I don’t think the Braves will win 14-1 again but I like them to cover the -1.5. They have covered the run line in their last 4 wins.
Phillies / Brewers Under (8.5) - Zach Eflin will start for the Phillies today and I personally witnessed him hold this Brewers lineup to 2 runs in 6 innings last Sunday when I was at Citizens Bank Park. Junior Guerra will go for the Brew Crew and he’s allowed 3 runs or less in his last 6 starts. Give me the under.
Athletics (Manaea) (-115) - The Angels have lost 4 of their last 5 games. They will have a tall task taking on Sean Manaea who will start for the A’s. He pitched against them in the second game of the season and held them to 1 earned run in 7.2 innings. John Lamb is getting the call up from the minor leagues to make his first Major League start since 2016. Two years and four days ago, this A’s lineup beat John Lamb 6-1. Marcus Semien and Jake Smolinski both took him deep in that game. 5 of the 9 guys in the A’s lineup played in that game against Lamb when he was on the Reds. Same color uniform and same kind of result today, A’s win.
Dustin Johnson (-1.5) over Scott Piercy. Still riding DJ 9-1 to win that we took ore tourney and he’s got a 4 stroke lead.
