6/18 VIP Picks

Tough weekend for sure. 7-5 overall in MLB but the golf and soccer is what really killed us. Dusting Johnson had the gag job after I jinxed him on Saturday and we saw multiple heavy favorites lose/draw in soccer. I’m going to continue to bet soccer but I’m not going to include it on the VIP blog. Fuck that. If you guys want insight on a game just DM me and I’ll hook you up but I’m going to keep the VIP picks focused on baseball where we have been profitable week after week this season.

Astros (-1.5) (Cole) - The Astros have now won 11 games in a row and they’ve covered the run line in 9 of those games. This team is unstoppable right now and a no named relief pitcher turned starter for the Tampa Bay Rays isn’t going to be the guy that cools this lineup off. The Astros are so hot that there’s a heat wave across the country right now. Gerrit Cole will start for the Astros and he is 8-1 with a 2.40 earned run average this season.

Indians ML / Astros ML parlay (-124) - All listed starters must start for action. You just saw the numbers above for the Astros, now for the Indians. First things first is they owe us one for Friday Night’s loss. Bauer and Covey faced off in this same pitching matchup last Wednesday and the White Sox won 3-2. That’s scary enough to make me keep the jackhammer in the garage rather than break it out but I still like this play. The Indians were 2-13 with runners in scoring position in that game and the left 9 guys on base. They have a .310 avg in 42 at bats against Covey. Bauer has held this Sox lineup to a .196 avg in 112 at bats. Two great matchups paired up here for great value at (-124).

Mets / Rockies Under (9.5) - Oh, the thin air in Colorado. What to make of it? I’ll take my chances with deGrom pitching who leads the league in earned run average at 1.55. He’s only allowed more than 2 earned runs in 2 of his 14 starts this season. I’m counting on another solid outting by him in thin or thick air. The Mets lineup doesn’t scare me or pose much of a threat to go off. They will face Tyler Anderson who comes in 4-1 with a 4.48 earned run average. The Mets have gone under 9.5 in 12 of their last 15 games and their lack of offense was the major factor. This game could be played on Mars and I would still take the under.

3 plays today, I’m trying to start the week off right by going 3-0.
