So we start the week 1-2 and that’s pretty bad but if you guys watched these games unfold, you know the tough luck that we had. First off, the Astros were just 3-7 with runners in scoring position and left 8 guys on base (3 on third) in a walk off win without covering the -1.5. deGrom was great as expected going 8 innings and only allowing 1 earned run…..BUT the Mets scored which was a shock to me. We went into the 9th inning trying to hold on to the under by 1 run and then the Mets score more runs in the top of the 9th inning than they did in each of their last 16 games. That is crazy. Tough luck to start the week but back at it tonight.

Dodgers Game 1 (Maeda) (-125) - Double header today after last night being pushed back. The Dodgers will look to stay hot in June today. Since June 1, this Dodgers team is 11-3. This Dodgers lineup has a lot of experience and success against Tyler Chatwood from when they used to face him in the N.L. West when he was on the Rockies. They have a .287 avg in 87 at bats. No one from the Cubs lineup has ever faced Maeda but he’s allowed 2 earned runs or less in his last four starts.

Braves (Soroka) (-105) - Best value of the day is right here. The Braves have won 3 of the 4 games that Soroka has started this season and he’s allowed 1 earned run or less in 3 of those starts. The Braves will be going for their seventh win in their last nine games. They will be up against Jaime Garcia who they have a .302 avg in 43 at bats. Freddie Freeman has taken Garcia deep twice in the past.

Astros (-1.5) (Verlander) - Firing on them again tonight even though they didn’t cover for us last night. Verlander is going today and he has held this Rays lineup to a .180 avg in 53 at bats. Unlike Cole, I don’t see Verlander making early mistakes against this Rays lineup. Astros will be swinging against Snell and they have a .389 avg & .761 slg% against him in 46 at bats. Bregman, Altuve, and Gattis all have homered against Snell. Dumb fact for you guys but Snell actually beat the Astros twice last season even though they hammered him. However, Justin Verlander A.L. earned run average leader wasn’t pitching in either of those games. Better match up tonight and the Astros will give us a better result.

Three picks for now. However, if the early games go our way I do have a late West Coast game that I am thinking about the over under and I will add it later on.
