How to deal with a losing streak

Every sports bettor’s worst nightmare, a losing streak. There are many different ways that people deal with losing streaks but I’m here to tell you the best strategy to bust out of a slump. VIP picks are 6-7 since Monday which is a RARE losing streak for us - of course every VIP member had their membership extended a week at no charge to make up for this and we will use the strategy I discuss below to close out the week on a winning streak and finish the week up rather than down.

First let’s look at what you shouldn’t do to break out of a losing streak.

  1. Bet more than you usually bet to “make the money back” - this is the first no-no. When you start doing this, you are putting yourself at risk to fall into a deeper hole. When you bet more than you usually do, you’re uncomfortable. When you have the mindset of “making your money back” you’re betting on games that you wouldn’t usually bet on. Oh, Japanese baseball at 4 a.m.? I’ll throw $200 on it, why not? This is bad news and it never ends well for people.

  2. Play a small risk high reward parlay to make up for your losses - here’s another tactic that people will try and I’m here to tell you that’s not a good decision either. Why not? Your chances of hitting a parlay are much lower than your chances at hitting straight bets. How many times have you been one team away from a big parlay? I know, a lot. If you’re in a hole, it might seem like a good idea to play a parlay to get out but more times than not, you’re digging a deeper hole.

I can’t think of two worse ideas when you are going through a slump. I’m telling you, these are the two biggest mistakes to make when you are on a losing streak.

So what are the keys to breaking out of a slump?

  1. Play high percentage plays

  2. Play straight bets

  3. Do not play parlays

Pretty simple right? Well what’s a high percentage play, Kof? These are exactly what they sound like. Plays with a high percentage chance of winning. If a team has outscored their opponent 45-10 and covered the run line in 5 out of 5 games against them this season, taking the run line is a play that has a high percentage chance of winning. The moneyline would be even more of a high percentage play. When you’re on a losing streak, don’t focus on odds, focus on WINNING. Would you rather win $10 or lose $20? That’s a good question to ask yourself when you start worrying about odds. Play straight bets and no parlays - this factors in to the “high percentage plays.”

If you’re a sports bettor, it’s inevitable that you will have winning streaks and losing streaks. It’s all about how you deal with the losing streaks to get back to winning. It takes a lot of discipline and patience. Sports betting is a marathon, not a sprint. If you’re in it to strike it big for $100k in a week you might as well give it up.

If you put $100 on every VIP MLB pick since the start of the season and doubled down on the JACKHAMMERS, you would be up $2,554. That’s not bad extra income over three months for most people.
