2-2 I know but with the second JACKHAMMER hitting for the second day in a row, it was a winning day! Hopefully you all took advantage of the two jackhammers Saturday and Sunday and turned last week’s mediocre week into a winning week. I know I did! Monmouth Park was awesome on Saturday and what an experience, I will definitely be going back. It’s a holiday week and we will be celebrating the Independence of America and what is more American than betting on baseball, eating hot dogs, and drinking lots of beer? Nothing. LFG.
Brewers (Suter) (-145) - Suter has held this Twins lineup to a .194 avg in 31 at bats. The Brew Crew will come into tonight’s game against Kyle Gibson with a .283 avg against him in 46 at bats. The Brewers split a four game series with the Reds over the weekend but they should bounce back tonight when they take on a struggling Twins team who has lost 8 of their last 10 games.
Indians (Kluber) (-1.5) - Should it be? Three in a row!? Let’s look at the numbers first. Kluber comes in at 11-4 with a 2.54 earned run average against Jakob Junis who is 5-9 with a 4.67 earned run average. Junis had some really good starts earlier in the season but the Royals have now lost the last 6 games that he has started. Junis took on this Indians lineup on May 12 and lost 6-2 after allowing 4 earned runs in 5.2 innings. He also lost to this Indian’s team twice last season 3-2 and 10-1. The Tribe come into tonight’s matchup with a .308 avg & .462 slg% in 39 at bats against Junis. Kluber has held this Royals lineup to a .238 avg in 223 at bats. Last time he took on the Royals on May 13 he went 7 innings without allowing an earned run. OK - JACKHAMMER!
Giants (Bumgarner) (-108) - We took him for the first time of the season five days ago and it was against this same Rockies lineup who he has great numbers against. He’s held them to a .236 avg in 239 career at bats and went 7 scoreless innings against them last time out. Kyle Freeland started that game for the Rockies and looked great going 7 scoreless but the Giants walked off in the bottom of the 9th. He looked good against this Giants lineup the last time out but they have a .315 avg in 127 at bats against him lifetime. Look for the bats to come through in the thin air of Colorado tonight.
Rockies / Giants Under (11) - added at 1:32 EST. I get the whole thin air thing but Freeland and Bumgarner both went 7 scoreless against each other 5 days ago. 11 is A LOT of runs and I have a hard time seeing this game go over 11. The Giants have good numbers against Freeland as you saw in the pick above but he’s never allowed more than 3 earned runs against the Giants at Coors Field. This one is a must play.
Cardinals (Martinez) (+135) - The Cardinals see the ball well against Robbie Ray, they have a .327 avg in 49 at bats against him. I am a little gun shy to go that big on this one because Ray had a fantastic start last time out in his first start back from an oblique injury. I still like the Cardinals history against him and I think the plus money is good value in this one. Carlos Martinez has held this Diamondbacks lineup to a .229 avg in 70 at bats. Martinez got a win in his last start out against the Indians but he had a rough stretch before that. I’m thinking he is back to being himself and we get a good start from him tonight. Good underdog value on this one but bet it less than you bet the other three tonight.
