7/28 VIP Picks

2-3 last night, well 3-3 if you count the fact that Kof saved you from taking Red Sox -1.5 at -180 last night. Kof actually intentionally jumped in front of a bus last night after two jackhammer losses in a row but he told me to post these picks for him today. No jackhammers, no parlays - just straight bets today to bounce back to the winning side of things.

Indians (Clevinger) (-1.5) - The Indians will take on Blaine Hardy today and they have had good success against him in the past. They are hitting .339 in 56 at bats against him. The Indians bats are hot after scoring 8 runs last night. Mike Clevinger will pitch for the Indians and he has held this Tigers lineup to a .167 avg in 54 at bats. Indians should cover the run line in this one this pretty easy.

Braves (Fried) (+110) - The Braves come in with a .397 avg & .521 slg% in 73 at bats against Alex Wood. Max Fried will be making his first start back from the DL and he has never faced this Dodgers lineup but with the numbers the Braves have against Wood, I’m relying on the bats to get the job done today. The Dodgers have won the first two in this series but I like the Braves in this matchup today.

Astros (Verlander) (-1.5) - Believe it or not, the Stros are just 2-2 against the Rangers this season when Verlander has started. However, it’s not due to him pitching poorly. He’s only allowed 4 earned runs in 26 innings against them this season. He has held this lineup to a .213 avg in 267 at bats. The Astros bats who fucked us last night will take on Ariel Jurado who has only had one start this season where he gave up 4 earned in 4 innings to the White Sox. The Astros should hit him hard.

Mets / Pirates Under (7.5) - deGrom is pitching and that usually means the under is going to hit. He has dominated this Pirates lineup in the past and has held them to a .190 avg in 63 at bats. I don’t think there is any concern or any doubt that deGrom will dominate tonight. Trevor Williams will pitch for the Pirates and he has had two really good starts in a row where he has gone a combined 11 innings without allowing a run.

Nationals (Gonzalez) (-155) - Gio has started against this Marlins lineup once this season and he only allowed 2 earned runs over 5 innings. He’s held this Marlins lineup to a .231 avg in 108 at bats. The Nats will take on Trevor Richards who they have hit hard in a small sample size. They should stay hot today and get the win.
