Well last night was World War 3 and we lost. It was a brutal day. A few plays didn’t go our way - Cubs left bases loaded in the 9th, Rays made an error and cost them 2-1, Braves go shut out, & the Mariners let us down big time. All of those matchups looked really good but they didn’t work out for us. A losing day after a 4 out of 5 winning streak. Let’s close the week out on a high note.
Phillies (Nola) (-1.5) - The Phillies will look to stay hot today as they come in with a 4 game winning streak and have covered the run line in all 4 of those games. They will take on Dan Straily of the Marlins today who they have a .355 avg & .677 slg% against in 93 at bats. Aaron Nola will pitch for the Phils and he’s held this Marlins lineup to a .217 avg in 92 at bats. He’s only allowed 2 earned runs in 13.1 innings pitched against them this season.
Cardinals (Flaherty) (-108) - The Cardinals will be up against Trevor Williams today who they have scored 9 earned runs against in his last 9 innings he’s pitched against them. They have a .407 avg & .642 slg% in 81 at bats against him. Jack Flaherty will pitch for the Cards and he’s had 3 solid starts against the Pirates this season. Let’s count on the Cards giving him some good run support today!
Red Sox / Yankees Over (9) - Alert Alert! David Price is pitching against the Yankees. They are in his head and have scored 12 earned runs in 4.1 innings this season. The Yanks lineup tonight has a .310 avg against him in 155 at bats. The Sox have also hit Tanaka hard this season and have scored 10 earned runs in 10.1 innings against him. I like the bats to be out for both sides and I think this one goes OVER.
