2-1 last night and I guess I was a little greedy on that White Sox pick but I thought it was a good spot, I thought wrong. We are now 4-1-1 in the last two days and $100 on each pick profited $233. Let’s keep the streak going tonight!
Red Sox (Pomeranz) (-108) - You won’t see the Red Sox listed at this value much this season so tonight, this is a must take. I know that there is doubt about Pomeranz and his 6.56 earned run average this year but he is coming off of a good start where he only allowed 2 earned runs over 5 innings. Pomeranz also has a good history against this Jays lineup and he has held them to a .239 avg in 71 at bats. The Sox should give him run support after a day off and all the momentum in the world after coming off of a sweep against the Yankees. They are hitting just under .300 literally (.299) against Marcus Stroman in a large sample size of 144 at bats. 8 of the 9 hitters in the Sox lineup have at least one career extra base hit against Stroman. This is the best value play of the night.
Braves / Nationals Under (7.5) - GAME 2 - These two teams are playing a double header today so I want to be clear that this pick is for game 2 with Sean Newcomb and Max Scherzer pitching. Both of these pitchers have great numbers against the opposing lineups and have had success against them this season. Newcomb has held this Nats lineup to a .227 avg in 44 at bats. He had a rough start against them in his first start of the season but he also has a start where he went 7 innings and only allowed 2 earned runs. Scherzer on the other hand has been great in 3 starts against the Braves this season - 5 innings - 2 earned runs, 9 innings - 0 earned runs, and 6 innings - 2 earned runs. This one has under written all over it.
Cardinals (Mikolas) (-158) - Miles Mikolas has beat the Marlins already this season on June 7 when he pitched 7 innings without allowing any earned runs against them. He has allowed 3 earned runs or less in 9 of his last 10 starts. Pablo Lopez will start for the Marlins and he has allowed 4+ earned runs in 3 of his last 5 starts. This Cardinals team hasn’t faced the backyard baseball looking motherfucker yet this season but they are 15-7 in games that Mikolas has pitched this season, I’ll take those odds.
Brewers (Anderson) (-1.5) - The Brewers will host the Padres tonight and they will take on our buddy Clayton Richard who has finally got his earned run average under 5 for the season (4.99). The Brew Crew already beat him once this year and with Chase Anderson on the mound tonight, they should beat him again. Anderson has held this Padres lineup to a weak .154 avg in 52 at bats. He only allowed 1 hit in 6 innings against them earlier this season. This Padres lineup is also without one of their top hitters with Wil Myers on the disabled list. The Padres are 44-70 this season compared to the Brewers 65-50. I have the Brew Crew brewing up some runs tonight and Anderson should have another dominant performance. Give me the run line.
