VIP Picks 8/9

My bad on adding the parlay late yesterday, without that we were just a Reds bullpen blown lead in the 8th inning away from a 3-0 day. Bummer! We are still riding out a great week and we have some good matchups today - get out the jackhammer!

Round 1 Matchup

Justin Thomas (-0.5) over Tiger Woods

Braves (Sanchez) (+115) - The Braves are listed as underdogs in this one but they have won the last 2 out of 3 against the Nats. I think the Braves should be listed as favorites based on this matchup today. They will take on Gio Gonzalez and they come in with a .305 avg in 200 at bats against him, that’s a huge sample size. Anibal Sanchez will pitch for the Braves and he has held this Nats lineup to a .262 avg in 164 at bats. Good value on the Braves for some day action with them listed as “underdogs.”

Twins / Indians Under (7.5) - We need Corey Kluber and Jose Berrios to start for this one to have action. The last two games between these two teams have gone under 7.5 and this is the best pitching matchup of the series. Berrios has held this Indians lineup to a .162 avg in 99 at bats. Kluber has held this Twins lineup to a .224 avg in 161 at bats. I think this one will be quite a pitcher’s duel and this one should go under 7.5 for us.

Brewers (Guerra) (-150) - JACKHAMMER - The Brewers screwed us two nights ago and that’s why I stayed away from them yesterday - sure enough they cover the -1.5 easily. Today I’m playing the moneyline and I’m making it a JACKHAMMER. The Brewers will have Junior Guerra on the mound who has held this Padres lineup to a .125 avg in a small sample size of 24 at bats. A few Brewers have seen Robbie Erlin who will start for the Padres but not much. This guy is a reliever who the Padres have decided to make a starter. The Padres have lost 23 of the 29 games that he has pitched in. Fire up the kettle and let’s Brew up something nice this afternoon!

Red Sox (Porcello) (-155) - JACKHAMMER - I don’t care what the line is, JACKHAMMER IT! This Sox team has scored 10 runs in each of their last two games. The Sox will face Ryan Borucki who they just beat on July 13th 13-7. They come in with a .389 avg in 18 at bats against him and once he is out of the game, this Jays bullpen sucks. Rick Porcello will start for the Sox and he is coming off of an impressive shut out against the Yankees. He’s held this Jays team to a .229 avg in 227 at bats. Give me the Sox and give me them for a lot. I might put 1,000 on it. LFG!
