8/14 VIP Picks

2-0-1 last night and the push was thanks to the Dodgers giving up 4 runs in the 9th! I will take the 2-0 with a nice +160 gift from the books who listed the best pitcher in baseball at those odds. $100 on each pick last night profited $212 so it was a good start to the week. Shout out to our guy K G B who hit big last night on his birthday! Happy Birthday bro! Let’s see what we have for opportunities tonight:

Red Sox (Porcello) (-134) - Not a bad price for the best team in baseball coming off of an off day. The Red Sox are 9-3 this season in games when they are coming off of an off day. I know that Rick Porcello is coming off of his second worst outing of the year but for some reason the Blue Jays hit him hard twice this season. He’s not pitching against the Jays tonight and last time he got pounded, he came back in his next start and tossed 6 scoreless innings. I’m usually pretty heavy on matchups but there isn’t much history for either lineup against the opposing starting pitchers tonight. I’ll ride with 14-5 Porcello backed by the #1 ranked offense in baseball against 7-9 Pivetta backed by the 20th ranked offense in baseball. Go Sox.

Diamondbacks (Corbin) (-171) - Ok, how the fuck is Yovani Gallardo 7-1 this season with an earned run average over 6? That is absolutely crazy. The DBacks have lost 3 of their last 5 but they still have a 1 game lead in the NL West. They have had success against Gallardo in the past and have a .282 avg in 110 at bats against him. 9-4 Patrick Corbin will pitch for the DBacks and they have won the last 4 games that he has started. The DBacks should score some runs off of Gallardo tonight in Arlington.

Mariners (Paxton) (-120) - This game tonight could be the American League Wild Card play in game preview - dare I say that? It could be but I don’t think it will be. One of these teams is going to be playing in it though. James Paxton will pitch for the Mariners tonight and he pitched 7 scoreless innings against this A’s team earlier this season. Mike Fiers gets the start for the A’s and he lost 7-2 against the Mariners when he faced them earlier this year as a Tiger. I think this matchup favors the Mariners and they are good value on the moneyline tonight.
