1-2 but both losers came in the 12th inning. A’s had multiple chances to win and they couldn’t come through for us. I don’t know if you watched but Khris Davis had the winning run on second and he took three swings trying to hit the ball to outerspace - just needed a base hit bro. He clearly took the runline not the moneyline. Giants were listed as a huge underdog and we took a chance on them that didn’t work out for us. We are still rolling this week and we are going to play a couple of high percentage plays to keep the positive vibes rolling into the weekend. There isn’t a full slate of games today because it’s a travel day for some teams. I know we usually do 3-5 plays a day but I’m playing 2 today and I will add an extra one over the weekend when there are better matchups. So 2-0 or bust tonight!
Yankees / Rays Under (8) - Tanaka threw a complete game shut out against the Rays late in July where he only allowed 3 hits over 9 innings. He should have another dominant performance today against the Rays. Blake Snell will pitch for the Rays and he comes in with a 2.18 earned run average. Snell has lost to the Yanks twice this year but it’s a completely different lineup without Judge and Sanchez. I think Snell will go deep in this game (he has 14 starts where he has gone 6 or more innings this season) and he should be able to hold the Yanks in check. I like the under for some day action.
DBacks (Buchholz) (-135) - The DBacks have a 1.5 game lead in the NL West right now and one thing that they have done to get in that position this late in the season is take care of business against teams that they should be beating. The Padres are one of those teams and they just swept them a couple weeks ago. They are 7-3 against them this season. Revived 5-2 Clay Buchholz will pitch for the DBacks tonight and he has held this Padres lineup to a .244 avg in 45 at bats. The DBacks will be up against Jacob Nix who only has one career start. Give me the DBacks to take care of business tonight.
Let’s go 2-0!
