Ok, I’m getting a little to excited for football. Let’s focus on today and our current hot streak - to the picks!
Pirates (Williams) (+128) - We start our day off with a nice little underdog in the Pirates tonight. They will get the joy of taking on Cole Hamels who they have hit hard in the past for a .327 avg in 98 at bats. I know Hamels has been good since getting traded to the Cubs (3-0) and one of those wins was against this Pirates team but I’ll rely on the bigger sample size instead of one game. I’ll also rely on Trevor Williams showing up tonight who has only allowed 2 earned runs in his last 29 innings pitched. He’s held this Cubs lineup to a .260 avg in 73 at bats.
Mets / Phillies Under (7.5) - Pitcher’s duel in Philly tonight with Aaron Nola and Noah Syndergaard squaring off. Aaron Nola has only allowed 3 earned runs in 17 innings pitched against the Mets this season while holding them to a .172 avg in 64 at bats - all three of those games went under 7.5. Syndergaard has held the Phillies lineup to a .238 lifetime avg in 84 at bats. I’m hoping that these teams scored all their runs in the double header yesterday and they struggle when they run into the opposing starting pitchers tonight - I got the under in this one.
Cardinals (Flaherty) (-120) - The Cardinals have won 8 out of their last 10 games and have been HOT. Jack Flaherty gets the start tonight and he has only allowed 2 earned runs in 12 innings pitched against the Brewers this season while holding them to a .143 avg in 42 at bats. The Cardinals have never faced Freddy Peralta but he is coming off of a horrendous start where he allowed 7 earned runs in 3 innings in a 10-1 loss against the Braves. On top of that, he’s allowed 7 earned runs in 2 of his last 4 starts. *Insert your favorite porn star here* because this guy has been getting pounded harder than her. Great value on this matchup.
Diamondbacks (Ray) (-121) - So, at first look in this one you wonder why the fuck the line is only -121 right? Well, the DBacks have lost the last 6 games that Robbie Ray has started. Taking a deeper look, he’s had some tough luck but he hasn’t pitched bad he’s gone 5-7 innings and allowed 1-4 earned runs in his last 4 starts. He’s also pitching in Petco Park tonight which is a pitcher friendly park. He’s held this Padres lineup to a .242 avg in 99 at bats. The DBacks will be up against Joey Lucchesi who they have a .300 avg & .625 slg% in 40 at bats against. They have already beat him three times this season and scored 5 earned in 4.1 innings against him last time out on July 29th.
4-0 would I mean WILL be HUGE tonight! You guys can look forward to tomorrow because there WILL BE A JACKHAMMER!
