9/2 VIP Picks

5-3 last night and 5-2 if you didn’t play the long shot 6 team parlay that only missed by one game - thanks Texas. Let’s keep it rolling today through the long weekend!

MLB:

Cardinals (Weaver) (-160) - The Cardinals will be up against Anthony DeSclafani who they have a .338 avg against in 71 career at bats. Luke Weaver will pitch for the Cardinals and he has held this Reds lineup to a .229 avg in 58 at bats. As I’ve been saying, these are big games for the Cardinals because they are right in the playoff hunt and the Reds are not.

Cubs / Phillies Under (8) - Jon Lester and Aaron Nola must start for action in this one. Lester comes in with a 3.67 earned run average and he has held this Phillies lineup to a .219 avg in 155 at bats. Aaron Nola comes in with a 2.10 earned run average and he has been great this season. I expect this one to be a pitchers duel and I like it to go under.

NCAAF:

Miami (-160) - That’s right I’m playing the moneyline here and I think it’s the right move. Could I see Miami covering -3.5? Absolutely. However, I can also see this game being a close defensive battle. Both of these defenses ranked in the top 30 in points allowed per game last season by allowing less than 22 points per game. So which offense do I trust more? LSU’s offense is a mystery with a new coordinator and QB. QB Joe Burrow transferred from Ohio State but he never played any meaningful games for the Buckeyes. He will be on a big stage tonight taking on a tough Miami defense. I think that there will be an adjustment period for the LSU offense and that’s going to be the difference in this game. Miami’s offense will be led by Senior QB Malik Rosier. I’ll bank on this Miami offense based on their familiarity with one another while LSU will be out there for the first time with each other. I like the under in this one as well but I’m more confident in Miami winning straight up. I’ll be wearing the chain!
