0-3 yesterday for an absolutely brutal day. We can chalk up the two baseball losses to some absolutely bullshit, the Cubs and Phillies scores 5 combined runs in the last two innings and the Cardinals couldn’t score in the bottom of the 9th with bases loaded no outs. As for the football game, I figured out the mystery of the LSU offense, they are pretty fucking good. Miami played terrible - I over estimated them and expected a lot more out of them. Bad plays and a lot of penalties contributed to this game not being close. We still went 6-2 in straight up picks for the first weekend of College Football so that’s pretty good. Today’s a new day and a new week so let’s get it started right. Oh yeah, and some good news for you guys is that we will have NFL regular season to bet on this week……….LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Mets / Dodgers Under (7) - deGrom and Wood must start for action in this one and it has all the makings of a pitcher’s duel. deGrom has held this Dodgers lineup to a .203 avg in 118 at bats while Wood has held this Mets lineup to a .190 avg in 63 at bats. The Mets have gone under 7 in 4 out of their last 5 games and the Dodgers have gone under in 5 out of their last 5 games. This pitching matchup is the best one out of all of those games so I expect this one to continue the trend and go under 7.
Cubs (Hamels) (-124) - Good value in this one. The Cubs are now 6-0 in games that Cole Hamels has started since he was traded to the Cubs a little over a month ago. All six of his starts have been 5 innings or longer and he has allowed 1 or less earned run in each. He has been REALLY good. The Brewers have had some success against him in the past but this guy has been dominating and I expect that to continue today. The Cubs will take on Zach Davies who hasn’t started a game since May and comes into this one with a 2-5 record and a 5.23 earned run average. I love the Cubs in this one and I love the price of the moneyline.
Florida State (-1.5) / Over 49 - Florida State opened up last season ranked as the #1 team in College Football before QB Deondre Francois was hurt in the season opener. He is back this season and looking to put up even better numbers than he did back in 2016 when he threw for 3,350 yards, 20 touchdowns, and ran for another 5. Florida State also has a new head coach Willie Taggart who brings an up tempo style offense which is going to be perfect for Francois to light up the scoreboard. Virginia Tech’s defense is in rebuild mode and only has 4 returning starters from last season. VT’s D also has two of their top lineman who are questionable with injuries. That is why I’m leaning on Florida State in this one - plus they will have the home field advantage. I do think that Virginia Tech QB Josh Jackson will be able to lead the Hokies to some points as well so I like teasing Florida State down to -1.5 with the over at 49.
