9/4 VIP Picks

Two losing days in a row and I will take full responsibility for the HORRIBLE and I do mean HORRIBLE college football picks of Miami and Florida State. I swear I’m not from the state of Florida and these were not homer picks. Based on the matchups and what I expected, I thought that they were both solid picks going into the game but they clearly didn’t work out. Florida State might as well play 7 on 11 because the offensive line lets guys through untouched every single play - they had no chance to get any offense going. We also had another tough loss in baseball yesterday with the Cubs walking in the tying run in the bottom of the 8th and then having a pass ball to get runners in scoring position in the 9th. That’s one thing I always say though, in sportsbetting you are never going to win 7 days a week. There are too many variables and literally anything can happen. We have had a tough couple of days and today it’s time to snap the cold streak and get another hot streak going to carry into this weekend. Today is a slump busting day - no parlays just straight plays.

Phillis (Arrieta) (-150) - Arrieta has held this Marlins lineup to a .185 avg in 65 at bats. The last time he pitched aginst the Marlins he went 7 scoreless innings. The Phils will take on Trevor Richards who they have had success against this season even though Richards is 2-1 against them. They come in with a .300 avg in 50 at bats against him. The Phils did win 5-1 the last time that they faced Richards. Not a bad price on this one at -150.

Red Sox (Porcello) (-135) - The Sox bats were back yesterday and usually when they heat up, they get HOT this season. I will count on the bats being out tonight in HOTlanta when they take on Sean Newcomb who they hit hard earlier this season. They scored 3 earned in 3 innings against him on May 26. 6 of the 8 hitters in the lineup tonight had a hit against Newcomb the last time out and the only two guys who didn’t get a hit were Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez. I would be willing to bet that both of those guys get hits tonight and this Sox lineup will stay hot. Porcello will pitch for the Sox and he has had tough stretch but he should get plenty of run support tonight as he did in his last start when the Sox won 9-4.

Diamondbacks (Ray) (-175) - JACKHAMMER -I will say that I like the run line in this one but with two losing days in a row, I’m playing it safe and taking the moneyline in this one. The DBacks will be up against Joey Lucchesi who they have a .328 avg & .625 slg% against in 64 at bats. They are 4-0 against him this year and have scored 5 earned in less than 5 innings in the last two matchups against him. They should give plenty of run support to Robbie Ray who I don’t think will need much because he has held this Padres lineup to a .231 avg in 108 at bats.

Orioles / Mariners Over (8) - Both of these lineups have had success against the opposing starting pitchers and each team has gone over or pushed at 8 in 4 of their last 5 games. Alex Cobb will start for the O’s and there have been 27 runs scored (total) in his last two games. The Mariners come in with a .301 avg against him in 113 career at bats. Wade LeBlanc has been pitching good lately but the last time he faced this Orioles lineup on June 27, he gave up 4 runs in 5.2 innings - the final score of that game was 8-7. The Orioles lineup comes in with a .323 avg in 31 at bats against him. I don’t see how this one DOESN’T go over 8.
