0-2 last night with the Phillies getting rained out, Lions absolutely gagging, and the DBacks falling apart after holding a 1-0 lead for half of the game. Today is one of those days that we need to go for some high percentage plays to get ourselves a winning streak going.
Phillies ——- update - The Phillies have naked Pivetta the starter for game 1 of the double header. Stay away.
A’s (Fiers) (-185) - The A’s will be up against a historically bad Orioles team tonight and Alex Cobb who they come in hitting just under .300 against in 54 career at bats. Mike Fiers will start for the A’s and he has held this Orioles lineup to a .200 avg in 45 at bats. I expect the A’s to continue to play good baseball and coast to the AL Wild Card game although they are just 3 games out of the AL West lead. They should get this win for us tonight no problem.
Red Sox (Sale) (-1.5) - It has certainly been awhile since Chris Sale pitched whether he has really been hurt or just resting up to stay fresh for the playoffs. Either way, we have missed him because he’s basically free money every 5th day. Let’s celebrate in a BIG way with his return tonight and make this one a JACKHAMMER. He has held this Jays lineup to a .219 avg in 155 at bats. The Sox bats will take on Ryan Borucki who they have hit hard and they come into tonight’s game with a .415 avg .683 slg% in 41 at bats. The Jays have won both games that Borucki has started against the Sox this year but the Sox have scored 11 runs in 8 innings against him. I expect Sale to be fresh, sharp, and dominant. Run line!
