9/19 VIP Picks

1-1-1 last night and you should have broken even if you played the same amount on each bet. 2-0 into the 5th in Cleveland then both sides put up some runs and we settle with a push. The Brewers got down early and were never able to catch up. Our left lefty Kershaw/Snell parlay worked out nicely for us. It’s Wednesday and we need a winning day today to propel us into Thursday Night Football tomorrow and the weekend - so let’s get it.

MLB:

Indians (Carrasco) (-1.5) - JACKHAMMER - Take the run line in this one and make sure you select that Carrasco and Covey must start for action in this one. The Indians have absolutely hit Dylan Covey harder than they have hit anyone else this season. They have scored 18 earned runs in 19 innings against him this year. They have gone 3-1 against him and check these games out - Indians score 6 earned runs in 2.2 innings against Covey, Indians score 5 earned runs in 5 innings against Covey, Indians score 5 earned runs in 4.1 innings against Covey, and finally one game on June-13 they only scored 2 earned runs against him but they had 10 hits against him. They have covered the run line 3 out of the 4 games against him this season. Their career average against this guy is .315 in 89 at bats. I am expecting them to put up atleast 5 runs tonight against him. Carlos Carrasco will pitch for the Tribe and he has only allowed 1 earned in 14 innings pitched against the White Sox this season. Make this one a STRONG play.

Cubs (Hamels) (Even) - The Cubs have outplayed the DBacks the last two games winning 5-1 and 9-1. The DBacks have struggled and have now lost 4 games in a row. It won’t be an easy task for them to snap the losing streak tonight when they take on Cole Hamels tonight who has held them to a .200 avg in 75 at bats. Robbie Ray will pitch for the DBacks and when you walk guys against good lineups, it’s going to burn you. He has 3 or more walks in 13 of his starts this season. I like the Cubs to put another beating on the DBacks tonight and it’s a great price on the moneyline at even money.

Giants (Stratton) (+134) - I love mirror image matchups in baseball and that’s exactly what this one is. The Giants have won 4 of their last 5 and the Padres have lost 4 out of their last 5. There is no other sport that is as trendy when you get hot and cold as baseball. The Giants will take on Robbie Erlin who they come in with a .349 avg in 43 at bats against. Chris Stratton will pitch for the Giants and he has held this Padres lineup to a .231 avg in 52 at bats. Look for the trends to continue in this one and the Giants should get us a win.
