9/24 VIP Picks

Yesterday was hands down the worst day of my sportsbetting career. Like how the fuck do you go 0-4 on jackhammers? How is that even possible? I am just as frustrated as you guys if not more. Looking back at each pick and the reasoning for each, I have no regrets and I was confident in all of them. Obviously they didn’t work out for us and it led to a disastrous day. It is a quick reminder that there is never any guarantee in sportsbetting, ever. I will tell you personally, I made a HUGE mistake last night by going ALL IN and I mean ALL IN (huge bet) on Patriots moneyline because I felt like that was a guarantee to make back what I lost earlier in the day and a little more --- andddddddddd the Lions dominated the Patriots. Fuck. I get it that you guys are pissed off about yesterday and rightfully so. I just ask one favor out of all of you, however long you have been with me, remember the results over that time and don’t focus on how bad of a day we had yesterday. It was a brutal day, but it was one day. Today is a new day and yesterday is in the past.

Cubs (Hamels) (-165) - The Cubs need a win tonight as the race for the division is coming right down to the end of the season. They will take on the Pirates and James Taillon tonight. They come into tonight’s matchup with a .345 avg & .613 slg% against him in 119 career at bats. Cole Hamels will pitch for the Cubs and he is 4-0 in starts at Wrigley Field since being traded from the Rangers to the Cubs back in July. The Cubs should put up runs against Taillon and Hamels should be good at home.

Dodgers (Kershaw) (-160) - The Dodgers will take on the DBacks tonight who for a while were playing great baseball but they have had a rough stretch and are falling out of it. The Dodgers are currently holding a 1.5 game lead in the NL West with the Rockies breathing down their neck. Kershaw will take the mound tonight and he has always dominated this DBacks lineup holding them to a .209 avg in over 250 career at bats. The Dodgers will take on Robbie Ray who they are hitting .271 against in 170 at bats. I like the Dodgers.

Steelers (+7) / Over (48.5) - I feel like this play is taking a safe approach to the Monday Night game and after how we did yesterday, that’s the right approach for us tonight. One thing that is to be expected is a lot of points being scored in this game - the Bucs are averaging 37.5 points and the Steelers are averaging 29 points through their first two games. Both defenses are also allowing more than 30 points a game. I don’t see any issue with this being a 27-24 game at minimum. Do you believe in the Fitzmagic show? He has beat a Saints team that looks pretty good now and he has beat the defending SuperBowl Champs. The public certainly believes in the Fitzmagic and 60% of the public money is on the Bucs to win this game. Mike Tomlin called out his defense after last week’s loss to the Chiefs and I think that will motivate them to show up tonight and make a few stops. The Steelers offense looked great so regardless of how good their defense plays, I like the Steelers to keep the pace with the Bucs offense tonight. We don’t need Pitt to win this game, we just need them to come within seven. They should be able to hang around and even have a chance to win this game outright at the end.
