10/9 VIP Picks

What a day! 4-0 and $100 on each pick profited $433! Our MLB Playoff record improves to 10-2 and I know this doesn’t seem like real life right now but take your thumb and index finger and pinch yourself, THIS IS REAL LIFE. The Brewers and Dodgers have moved on the the NLCS, the Astros are waiting for the winner of the Red Sox / Yankees series so we only have one baseball game tonight. There’s some hockey action tonight but there’s really only one game I’m confident in. We typically have 3-5 picks per day but I hope you guys can forgive me for just 2 picks today. We did go 4-0 last night :)

Red Sox (Porcello) (+110) - Again, not a homer pick here, the numbers will validate this pick. My first thought on this game after the massacre last night was that the Red Sox should start Chris Sale tonight to end this series in New York and avoid a Game 5 back at Fenway. After looking into it more, Rick Porcello has been good against the Yankees this year and throughout his career. Porcello has held this Yankees lineup to a .239 avg in 155 at bats. He also has two starts against them this year where he pitched 7+ innings and allowed 1 run or less. The Red Sox lineup that put up 16 runs last night will look to stay hot tonight when they take on CC Sabathia. The Sox lineup comes in hitting .267 in 225 at bats against him. I’m expecting a big game from Mookie Betts tonight who has a .429 avg lifetime against CC. CC wasn’t necessarily bad against the Red Sox this year but he was 1-2. He allowed 4 earned in 4 innings, 2 earned in 3 innings, and had one good one where he only allowed 1 earned in 7 innings. One thing that I think is a cause for concern with CC is that he had two starts in September (late in the season) where he allowed 5 earned runs in less than 4 innings pitched against Toronto and Oakland. I’m going with the Sox at plus money again tonight based on Porcello’s numbers against the Yanks and relying on this Sox offense to get to CC tonight. CC, do you love me? Are you losing? Say you’ll promise to serve up homeruns all night. Cause I want it, and I need it. And I’m down for it always!

Predators (-150) - The Predators are 2-0 and they have beat both teams from New York (Rangers & Islanders). Tonight will be their home opener in SMASHVILLE where they were 28-9-4 last season. They will take on the Flames who come in 1-1 after splitting a home and away series with the Canucks to start the season who I don’t expect to be very good this season. The Preds are simply a better team than the Flames and you pair that with the energy they will have in their home opener tonight they should get this win for us.
