10/11 VIP Picks

2-1 last night and a good start to turning around the hockey season. Both the Capitals and the over should have been jackhammers but it’s early in the season and I wasn’t comfortable throwing it out there yet. There should have been 10+ goals scored in that game last night with the missed opportunities that both teams had. I will take 2-1 any day. Now we have more hockey tonight and Thursday Night Football!

NFL:

ALERT 🚨Line movement shows the money coming in on the Giants. I originally posted Eagles -3 but with the moneyline at -130 for the Eagles that is the play! 🚨 I know a lot of you probably already locked your bet in but for those of you that haven’t, take the moneyline.

Eagles (-3) - Neither one of these teams has been playing very good to start the season. The Eagles come in 2-3 and the Giants come in 1-4. The thing is that all of the games except one (for both teams) this season have been one possession games so both of their records could be a lot different if a few things went their way. My pick tonight is based on the Eagles being the defending Super Bowl Champs and a win tonight turns their season around as it would make them 3-3 and very much alive for the NFC East. The Giants on the other hand had a terrible season last year and a 1-4 start this season is like a fully loaded 18 wheeler going down hill losing control and it’s about to go off the road. The Giants will look to get things going on the ground with Saquon Barkley but the Eagles #2 ranked rushing defense should be ready to shut him down. The Eagles just lost Jay Ajayi so I’m expecting the Eagles offense to come out throwing the ball. Carson Wentz has thrown for 300+ yards two games in a row now. Give me the defending Super Bowl Champs to jump out to an early lead and never look back tonight.

NCAAF:

Texas Tech / TCU Over (60.5) - We need 30 a side in this one and I don’t think that should be an issue tonight. Texas Tech comes in averaging 48.4 points a game while TCU comes in averaging 31.6 points per game. On the defensive side of the ball, Tech is allowing 31 points per game while TCU is allowing 20.8. However, there are a couple of games skewing the averages for both teams. If you take away a Texas Tech shutout against Lamar, their average points allowed jumps up to 39. If you take out two cupcake games for TCU against Southern and SMU, their average points allowed jumps up to 28.3. I think both teams will look to play at a fast pace and this game should be a track meet. Give me the over.

NHL:Bruins (-165) - The Bruins started their season by getting destroyed 7-0 against the Capitals but they have put together two convincing wins in a row to show that they are going to be legit this year. They beat the Sabres 4-0 and then the Senators 6-3. The Oilers have only played one game this season and they lost 5-2 to the Devils. The Bruins at home on a Thursday night should be a safe play.

Capitals / Devils Over (6) - After last night, the Capitals have now gone over in all three of their games this season. Their offense is great and they have scored 5,6, & 7 goals in their three games but they could have scored even more if you saw the games. The Devils have only played one game so far but they put up 5 goals in a 5-2 win over the Oilers. I think both teams will be getting the puck on net and there will be plenty of goals scored for us to hit the over.

Sharks (-155) - They are who we thought they were! It took a few games but the Sharks put it together in their last game against the Flyers on Tuesday when they scored 8 goals and won 8-2. They will take on the Rangers tonight who are 0-3 and they allowed 8 goals in an 8-5 loss against the Hurricanes in their last game. Snowmen being built everywhere! I like the Sharks to win this game tonight because I view them as a much better team and they are coming off of a dominant win against a Flyers team (who is better than the Rangers) that showed us what they are capable of.
