Here we go, Game 1 of the World Series! Before we get to the Game 1 pick I’ll give my series pick and if you’ve been a member throughout the playoffs, it won’t be any surprise.
Series pick: Red Sox (-160) - This opened at -135 and has quickly moved to -160. The Sox have already beat two teams who I believe are better teams than the Dodgers. I felt like the Sox / Astros series could have gone either way but whoever came out of that series would win the World Series. Go Sox!
Red Sox (Sale) (-138) - It’s weird we are taking the Sox on the moneyline as favorites for once since we have hit them so many times as underdogs during this playoff run. +110, +115, +125, +130, & +160 to be exact and $100 on each one of those picks has profited +$640. They are favorites in Game 1 but that shouldn’t be a surprise at all. The Red Sox have their ace Chris Sale going and I would say his two starts in the playoffs could have been better but it’s not like they were bad - he allowed 2 earned runs in each. Is this belly button ring thing real or his he just trying to fuck with the Dodgers? The Sox lineup was hands down the best offense in the league this year and they averaged more runs per game than any other team. The thing that is scary for the Dodgers is how everyone is contributing for the Sox right now from top to bottom of the lineup and even bench players who have been inserted and have stepped up. Clayton Kershaw will have his hands full against the Sox lineup that’s clicking. Kershaw gave up 4 earned runs in 3 innings against the Brewers in Game 1 of the NLCS. I think the Sox will come in with an aggressive approach against him and it will lead to a Game 1 victory for the Sox.
Sixers (-1.5) - I know the Pistons come in 2-0 but they’ve only beat the Nets and the Bulls. The Pistons beat the Bulls by 2 and the Sixers beat the Bulls by 19 so what it is? The Sixers are the better team and they have had a few days off since their last game so they are fresh. Go Sixers!
Pelicans (-6.5) - LEGIT alert 🚨 the Pelicans are legit this year and it has shown in the first two games. They have won by and average of 20 points and one game was on the road against the Rockets. The Pelicans will host the Clippers tonight who just beat that Rockets team by 3. I like the Pelicans to cover at home tonight.
