Redskins (-1.5) - This has to be a trap game or a mistake right? 4-2 Redskins are underdogs against the 1-6 Giants who had a short week after playing on Monday Night? What am I missing? The line is too good to not take but the only way the Redskins lose this game is if the fix is in. I guess the books are counting on a lot of Giants fans to bet on their team and assume that they are too good to drop to 1-7. It makes no sense. The skins have won 2 in a row against two teams that have already beat the Giants this year. No in depth analysis for this one it’s pretty simple - the Redskins are a better team than the Giants and they are going to win this game.
L.A. Rams (-8) - The Packers come in 3-2-1 but man is it an ugly 3-2-1. They have beat the 1-6 49ers, 2-5 Bills, and 3-3 Bears. They tied with the 4-2 Vikings. They have lost to the 3-3 Vikings and the 4-2 Redskins. That’s ugly. The Rams come in looking pretty at 7-0 and they will improve to 8-0 today. This Packers defense is bad and are allowing 24 points per game but a goose egg against the terrible Bills brings that average down - without that they are allowing just under 30 points per game. That’s right in line with what this high powered Rams offense is averaging 33.6 points per game. The Rams defense has been good too allowing just 18 points per game. The best defense that the Packers have faced this season (based on points allowed per game) was the Redskins and they held them to 17. Throw in the facts that LA is at home and 69% of the public money is on the Packers, let’s go with the RAMS!
Saints (-2) - A rematch of last year’s playoff matchup with the Minnesota Miracle in Minnesota. The Saints will be looking to avenge that loss tonight and I think they will. The Vikings have been looking good the last three weeks but they haven’t beat a team with a winning record all season. They will have a tough matchup against the Saints who are 5-1 and have the leagues 2nd ranked offense scoring 34 points per game. The Vikings have scored 34 points or more one time this season, just last week against the Jets. The Vikings defense has been good but they gave up 38 points when they played the 3rd ranked offense in the NFL LA Rams. The thing about this Saints offense is that it is so balance that it’ll make it a tough matchup for the Vikings tonight. Brees can come out and throw for 400 yards or they can pound the rock for 100+. The balance of the offense keeps the defense guessing. Let’s march with the Saints on Sunday Night Football.
