12/8 VIP Picks

I honestly couldn’t go 0 for two nights in a row if I tried. Talk about having some bad luck the last two nights. I’ll say the same thing I said yesterday, I stand by my picks and the reasoning behind each of them. I’ll never let two terrible nights in a row spoil a whole season.

Golden Knights (-135) - Here’s a matchup of two teams that are headed in opposite directions right now. The Golden Knights have won 8 of their last 10 and the Kings have lost 4 of their last 5. These two teams played in a playoff series last season where the Knights swept the Kings 4-0. The Knights are averaging 4.4 goals per game in their last 5 compared to the Kings 1.8. The Knights should take care of this team who they are simply much better than this season and who they dominated in last year’s playoff series.

Xavier / Cinci Over (136) - Loooooooooooooooooooving this over today. Both of these teams can really fill it up and they are both averaging 74+ points per game this season. Xavier has scored 80+ in 3 of their last 4 games and 5 times this season. Cinci put up 105 in a game last week. Of course that number that Cinci as for points allowed per game might scare some of you. They are allowing 57.4 points a game but look at some of these teams that they have been able to play - North Carolina Central, Milwaukee, Western Michigan, George Mason, and Ole Miss. Any team would be able to hold those offenses to low scoring games. No need to worry about the Xavier defense, they are allowing 72 points per game this season. 58% of the public money is on the under in this one but having both of these offenses capable of scoring in the 80s, I think the over is the play in this one.

Celtics (-8) - We can thank the Thunder for this line being where it’s at tonight because the Bulls beat the Thunder last night. Does that concern me? No, the Thunder almost lost to the Nets the other night. This Bulls team is 6-20 this season and there is no reason to be concerned about them. The Celtics are officially starting to click and play like the team that they were supposed to be this season with 4 wins in a row by margins of 28, 9, 33, and 17. They have been blowing people out and they have covered the spread in all of those games. I won’t say that the Bulls are the worst team that the Celts have played in this stretch because they did play the Cavs but the Bulls are certainly another bad team that the Celtics should blow out tonight. Cssssssssssssssssssss!!

Moneyline parlay:

Celtics ML / Nuggets ML (-130) - JACKHAMMER - You can see the write up on the Celts above and they should blow the Bulls out tonight. We parlay them with the Nuggets who did let us down last night but they will bounce back tonight against a very bad 5-20 Hawks team who has lost 4 in a row by double digits!

Army (-2) / Over (34) -  Army comes into this one 9-2 and Navy comes in 3-9. It’s been a great season for Army sitting at 9-2 but their most impressive game this season was actually a loss that they took when they hung around with #5 Oklahoma and only lost 28-21. Their defense has been good all season and they come into this one allowing just 18.7 points per game. Navy on the other hand, hasn’t been playing much defense at all this season and they are allowing 34.9 points per game this season. So Navy is allowing more points per game this season than the teased over total is. Army has been able to light up the scoreboard at times this season and have scored 52, 42, 38, 37, and 31. We only need 17 a side for the teased over to hit but I think Army will make a push to cover that number themselves today. I don’t think the Navy defense is good enough to keep them in this game today and I think Army runs away with this one.
