12/12 VIP Picks

2-1 last night and we were a missed free throw from CJ McCollum with 1:08 left in the game away from going 3-0.

5-1 start to the week is still great but it’s not enough. We need to keep building off of it and put together a solid hump day! To the picks!!

Celtics (-4) - The Celts were able to get a 13 point win against the Pelicans on Monday night without Kyrie, Horford, Hayward, or Baynes in the lineup. They will be on the road tonight to take on the 11-16 Wizards who have lost two games in a row including a 116-101 loss to the 6-21 Cavs. The Wiz were without John Wall and Otto Porter Jr. in their last game and by the sounds of it, they could be without both of them again tonight. For the Celts, they will get Kyrie back but Horford, Hayward, and Baynes are still listed as day to day. This Celtics team is rolling right now with whoever is on the court and when a team is on a heat like this, you need to ride it! 6 wins in a row with an average margin of victory of 26 points for the Celtics. What’s 4 points against this below average Wizards team? Cssssssssssssssss!

Thunder (-2) - The Thunder are one of the hottest teams in the league right now and they have won 17 of their last 21 games. They will take on the Pelicans tonight who they beat 122-116 earlier this season on November 5. Russell Westbrook and Paul George have been filling up the stat sheet and teams have struggled to defend both of them. The last time these two played, the Thunder entered the 4th quarter with a 100-86 lead against the Pelicans even though Russell Westbrook left the game early with a sprained ankle. Steven Adams did a great job defending Anthony Davis in the last matchup and even though AD still put up 20 points, he missed 13 shots from the field. We should see more of the same in tonight’s game on ESPN and the Thunder shouldn’t have any problem covering the -2.

Penguins -1.5 - The Penguins will be taking on the Blackhawks and nothing seems to be going right for the Blackhawks as of late - they have lost 9 of their last 10 games. They lost 6-3 last night in Winnipeg and they will be on a back to back tonight in Chicago hosting the Penguins. The Blackhawks are 1-5 in the second game of a back to back this season. The Blackhawks goals against average on the season is now at 3.75 goals per game and this Penguins team who averages 3.34 goals per game and 32 shots on goal per game will be licking their chops going into this matchup tonight. The Penguins have won 3 of their last 4 and 2 of those wins were by 3 or more goals. Look for the Penguins to put on a clinic against this Blackhawks team tonight on NBC Sports Network.
