12/20 VIP Picks

Cold streak continues last night and with that, I will be extending everyone’s membership for a week at no charge (it’s added to the back end of your membership if you have recurring set up) to make up for the cold streak. Well, everyone except our buddy Mr. Alcantar who has been a VIP member for less than a week and took to twitter last night to trash me. He doesn’t believe that there are cold streaks in sportsbetting. FALSE. He claims that I don’t document my picks on my site where anyone can see at anytime. FALSE. And finally, he called me a thief. FALSE. I actually put in more time and do more research for the picks when we go on losing streaks. I barely sleep at night because I’m looking for an edge to get us back on track. The thing we always have to face is that things happen in sports that aren’t supposed to and that’s uncontrollable. Look at the Suns who were 12 points dogs last night and they went on the road to actually win by 8. That’s the way sports are and that’s the way they will always be. I will keep putting in the work to put together picks that look to be profitable.

Ok, now let’s get back to winning. That’s what WE do best.

NCAAF:

Marshall (-3) - Buy the half point down to 3, it’s worth it. We are going BOWLING TONIGHT! USF started the season 7-0 but they have lost their final 5 games since then. Their game against Houston was a shootout but the final four games were tough for USF because they played against some pretty good defenses. USF was only able to average 16.25 points per game in their final 4. Tulane held them to 15 points, Cinci held them to 23, Temple held them to 17, and UCF held them to 10. The average points allowed per game for those 4 defenses that held USF in check is 23.32. This Marshall defense comes in right in line allowing just 22.5 points per game. On the flip side of the ball, the USF defense has been non existent this year allowing 31.5 points per game. In that same 4 game stretch where they couldn’t get their offense going, they allowed their opponents to score an average of 35 a game. South Florida relies on the running game and this isn’t a good matchup for them against this Marshall defense that has the 10th ranked rushing defense in the country. Marshal is holding opposing backs to 2.98 yards per carry which is ranked 6th in the nation. 67% of the money is on Marshall in this one against the spread but the line moving to 3.5 this morning tells me that money is coming in on USF. Still scared of the fact that more than 50% of the money is on Marshall? Don’t be - bowl teams with more than 50% of the money on them to cover the spread are 5-2 this bowl season. Another thing I like is that 58% of the moneyline money is on USF at +151. This IS technically a home game for USF but tonight won’t be the first time in the last month that Marshall takes a trip to a Florida school and gets the win. WE ARE MARSHALL!

NHL:

Lightning (-120) - Good price for the best team in hockey tonight. They will be on the road taking on a Flames team that has been good this season, but they haven’t been as good as the Lightning. The Bolts have got their goals per game average over 4 for the season and that shows how powerful this offense is. They have won 4 of their last 5 and have a goal differential of 15 in those 4 wins. Their one loss during that stretch came against the Jets and it was only by 1 goal. The Flames have won 8 of their last 10 but they were shutout in both losses and they are coming off of a 2-0 L to the Stars. This one should be a good game but I can’t turn down the best team in hockey at -120 on the moneyline.

Blue Jackets (-185) - High price on the moneyline here but we need a high percentage play to snap the cold streak. The Devils will be on the road tonight where they are just 3-14 this season. The Devils recently got a win against the Golden Knights last week when the Knights blew a 3-0 and 4-1 lead. The Devils have lost two in a row since then including a 7-2 loss to the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. The Jackets are 2-3 in their last 5 but they should use tonight’s matchup against the 2nd to worst team in the league to get back on track. They just beat the worst team in the league 4-1 a week ago and we should see a similar result tonight.
