NFL Playoffs Wild Card Seahawks vs Cowboys Betting Preview

Seattle Seahawks @ Dallas Cowboys (-2) - These two teams met earlier this season when the Seahawks were 0-2 and the Cowboys were 1-1. That game was in Seattle and the Seahawks won 24-13. A couple takeaways from that game - both teams combined forced 5 turnovers, Zeke ran for 127 yards, and Russell Wilson accounted for 3 TDs. Let’s take a closer look at this matchup from each side.

Seahawks:

Remember back when this Seahawks team was 4-5 and it just didn’t seem like they were going to be in the playoff hunt this season? The thing is, 5 of their first 9 games were against playoff teams and they had to play 2 of those games against the Rams who many people have been picking to win the Superbowl. Since then, the Seahawks have finished strong by winning 6 of their last 7. They played some cupcake games during that stretch but let’s certainly not forget about them beating the Chiefs two weeks ago. The Seahawks defense has been good all season even though they lost some key players, they still ranked 11th in the league in points allowed per game at 21.7. The Cowboys will be looking to run the ball in this game because that’s what they have done all season and this Seahawks defense should be ready for it coming in ranked 13th against the run allowing 113 rushing yards per game. The Seahawks offense will face a tougher challenge than their defense will when they matchup against this Cowboys defense that ranks 6th in points allowed per game at 20.2. Will Russell Wilson be able to make a few game changing plays like he did in the first matchup?

Cowboys:

Defense - that’s what it’s been about for this team this season. As you saw above, they come in with the 6th ranked defense in the league when it comes to points allowed per game. The Cowboys also finished their season strong by winning 7 of their final 8 games. The Cowboys love their new wide receiver Amari Cooper but Dak has only thrown for 300+ yards twice this season. Will he be able to make plays through the air in this game or will the Seahawks defense force multiple interceptions like they did in the first matchup between these two teams this season? The good news for Cowboys fans is that Zeke was able to run for 127 yards in the first meeting that's good news because the Cowboys are 0-4 this season when Zeke rushes for less than 70 yards so it will be key for them to get him going Saturday night.

This game will be closer than the first matchup earlier this season but don’t place your bet on this one until you see my BEST BET.
