1/9 VIP Picks

2-2 last night but with the +134 Penguins/Capitals parlay hitting it was a winning night! Yes, the second NHL parlay of the night was added at 9:41 but I saw most of you were able to log in before it started. For those of you who missed it, I would suggest turning on “post notifications” on twitter or instagram so you get a notification every time I post. I don’t usually add plays late like that but I really liked it and for good reason. Pacers allow the Cavs to score 72 points in the second half and they don’t cover by 2 points. Tampa did their part for the over but the Blue Jackets were shut out. Both parlays hit in NHL and that +134 puts us in the positive for the night.

You may have heard about the Sportsbetting with Kof podcast. My goal with that is to give my followers more free content but I don’t want any of you to worry about it. I can promise you that there will only by 1-2 free picks a week that are VIP picks. What I mean by that is I might talk about different trends for games but the content on the podcast won’t be as valuable as the content that you guys get in the VIP blog each day.

Now - let’s get to our Wednesday night picks.

NBA:

76ers (-3.5) - These teams played eachother last night and the Sixers won by 17 points. Last night was in Philly and tonight is in DC but I don’t think that home court for the Wizards will make a 13 points difference. The Sixers are now 2-0 against the Wizards this year and they beat them 123-98 in the first meeting this season back in November. The Wizards are just 16-25 this season and there isn’t much hope for the rest of the season now that their All-Star John Wall had season ending surgery. I like the Sixers to get another win tonight and cover the -3.5 for us.

Spurs (-2.5) - I don’t know how or why we keep getting such valuable lines for the Spurs but I will take it. The Spurs and Grizzlies are two teams that are going in opposite directions. The Spurs have won 5 games in a row including a 108-88 win over this same Grizzlies team just 4 days ago. The Spurs have been playing great and have won 13 of their last 16 games. The Grizzlies have lost 6 in a row and 3 of those losses were by double digits - including that 20 points loss to the Spurs 4 days ago. The Grizzlies started the season 15 and 9 but since then they have gone 3-13. Memphis Center Marc Gasol admitted after the game Monday that their team confidence is “really fragile when something bad happens.” Good luck with your fragile confidence against one of the hottest teams in the league tonight. Go Spurs!

NHL:

Predators / Blackhawks Over (6) - Only 2 of the last 5 for each team have gone over 6 but the reason for that has been their opponents lack of scoring, not their own. The Preds have scored 4 or more goals in 4 of their last 5 games while the Blackhawks have scored 3 or more goals in 3 of their last 5. Two games that stick out to me for this over matchup are the 6-3 win for the Preds over the Capitals and the 5-3 win for the Blackhawks over the Penguins. Line set at 6 for this one and you can tune in to watch this one go over on NBC Sports Network tonight.
