Brutal night not only by going 0-3 but the way it happened. All of the teams we bet on had leads and blew them. Bruins had a 2-0 lead and Flames had a 1-0 then 2-1 lead that they blew. The Rockets had a 127-119 lead with 1:09 left in regulation and blew that. Then they had a 142-135 lead with 1:28 left in overtime and blew that to lose by 3. That may be the gag job of the year across all sports, I haven’t seen one that bad in a long time. That’s part of sportsbetting though, bullshit like that happens and when it does, it’s unpredictable. Oh yeah, and fuck Spencer Dinwiddie. On to today to get primed for the weekend.
Jets / Predators Over (6) - Both the Jets and the Predators have scored 3+ goals in 9 of their last 10 combined games. If you look at some recent goal totals for them we have 9, 9, 7, 7, 7, and 11. They have been scoring goals and they have been allowing goals. They also project to go over 6 tonight if their season averages hold true with the Jets averaging 3.46 goals per game and the Preds averaging 3.15 goals per game. The Preds won the first matchup between these two teams 3-0 but I’m liking the over based on the recent outburst of goals for each team. OVER!
Islanders (-155) - The Islanders have been hot and they have won 8 of their last 10 games. On the flip side, the Devils have not and they have gone 3-5 in their last 8 games. The Islanders are 2-0 in head to head matchups with the Devils this season winning 3-0 and 4-3. That second game makes me like the moneyline over the puck line in this one. Although the 3-0 game was the game that the Islanders were home. The Islanders should stay hot at home tonight against a struggling Devils team.
Michigan State (-2) - JACKHAMMER - 15-2 (6-0 Big Ten) go on the road to take on Nebraska 13-4 (3-3 Big Ten). The Spartans come in ranked #6 in the country and Nebraska is just 1-1 against Top 25 teams this season. Nebraska’s one loss came against Iowa 93-84 and Michigan State beat that same team 90-68. Another common opponent to look at that’s recent is Penn State. Michigan State beat their ass by 15 on Jan 13 and Nebraska snuck by winning by 6 on Jan 10. Michigan State is 3-1 against Top 25 opponents this season and that one loss came against #1 Kansas in the first game of the season. Nebraska will be going for a school record 21st straight home victory but that is definitely in jeopardy with the Spartans road success this season. The Spartans come in with a 4-1 road record including a big win on the road against #14 Ohio State. It’s been a while since we have played a College Hoops play but this one is a perfect opportunity to pick up where we left off and we are just under 60% on the season. This win tonight will boost us up to 60% for the NCAAB season. Go Spartans!
