Ahhh straight picks go 1-2 last night and the run comes to an end but we will look to get another one going tonight. Both the Raptors and Rockets had a little cold stretch and there were a lack of whistles in the 1st and early 2nd quarter. The Islanders and Senators were 1-0 at the end of 1 and then there were 5 fucking goals scored in the next 10 minutes. The parlay went 4 out of 6 and the two losses were both straight picks as well so we go burnt by those. I was debating Rockets moneyline +135 or the over last night and the over seemed like the play based on recent results for both squads and the fact that the first time these two played it was only decided by 2 points. That’s my bad! A 1-2 night on straight picks won’t kill us though, we are still 7-2 since Sunday. Back to winning tonight, LFG.
Maple Leafs (-1.5) - This puck line pays +135 odds tonight and that’s great value for this matchup. The moneyline is -190 and if you play the moneyline you can be confident in hitting that one as a full out JACKHAMMER. I’m hesitant to go all in on a puck line because we have been burnt by one goal a few times this season. The Leafs have been playing great hockey and have won 5 of their last 6 while covering the puck line -1.5 in all 5 of those wins. The Canucks are 2-8 in their last 10 and 3 of their last 4 losses have been by 2 goals or more. First meeting between these two teams this season? Leafs won 5-0 in a blowout. I’m expecting another blowout tonight.
Blues (-170) - The Blues have lost 3 of their last 5 but not long ago, they were the hottest team in hockey winning 11 games in a row. The first game of that 11 game winning streak was in Anaheim where they beat the Ducks 5-1. The will be playing in Anaheim tonight and the Ducks are just the opponent they need to turn around this little skid they have been going through. The Ducks are 2-1 in March but they were just 3-10 in February. The Blues are right in the middle of a playoff push and tonight is one of the games that they can’t afford to lose, I don’t think they will lose tonight.
Celtics (-2) - Here we go here we go here we go again. Back on the Celtics train? We haven’t taken the Celtics on the spread in over a month as they have been as unreliable as they come. However, they beat the Warriors 128-95 in Oakland last night. Fluke game? Some may say. I’m thinking the timing of this win could be a much needed turning point for this team. There are just under 20 games to play in the regular season and it’s really now or never for this team that has underachieved all season, yet they only have 5 less losses than the first team in the Western Conference (Warriors) who they absolutely dominated last night. I know the Celts are just 3-5 on back to backs this season but something looked different about this team last night and I liked it. I liked it a lot. -2 is stealing money tonight if they play the way they did last night. Kings have lost 3 of their last 5 and are just 1 game over .500 currently sitting 3 spots out of the playoffs.
