3/15 VIP Picks

Nights like last night are why we play the game! 5-0 with the jackhammer hitting HARD. It was a good mix of action last night and things went our way. The Celtics were down 15 at one point in the third but they were able to rally back and pull away with the win for us. That was really the only game that was ever in question out of all of the picks last night. Let’s keep it going as we are in prime position going into the weekend with a lot of action on the table for us. KOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFSPORTS!!!

Kuchar over Mickelson (-0.5) - Difference in this pick is a little bit of juice so the straight up win is -150 but the half a stroke is -115. The only benefit of taking it straight up is if they tie, we get our money back. After going 5-0 last night, we are taking the half a stroke on this one. Kuchar shot 3 under yesterday while Phil put up a +2. 5 stroke difference and I’m confident in Kuchar to out play Phil again today, just hope Kuch tips the caddy accordingly.

Tennessee (-5.5) - This one seems like a no brainer and I’m not sure how the spread isn’t bigger in this game. Yes, Tennessee is coming off of a loss to Auburn in their last game but it was the game before that when they beat this same Mississippi State team 71-54 and completely dominated them. Tennessee is just the better team in this matchup and it showed in the first game between these two 10 days ago when Tennessee out rebounded, out hussled, and out scored Mississippi State. The Volunteers had 8 blocked shots in that game compared to the Bulldogs 1 - that goes to show the difference in athleticism between these two teams. I think Tennessee will come out and win big again tonight like the last time these two played.

Golden Knights / Stars Under (5.5) - I’ll apologize for suggesting you bet an under on a Friday night, that goes completely against a Friday night mindset of sending it. BUT, this one seems like great value based on the recent results. The last time these two teams played, it went under 5.5. 8 of the last 10 combined games have gone under 5.5. Both of these teams play solid defense and they come in allowing 2.77 and 2.47 goals per game this season. The goals allowed by both of these teams in recent games is quite impressive - Vegas has allowed 2 goals or less in 4 of their last 5 games and Dallas has allowed 2 goals or less in 5 of their last 5 games. That’s a 90% trend on the goals allowed and an 80% trend on games going under overall. Sorry to sound like a nerd but the last two 80%+ trends we had in NHL picks were the Bruins/Jets over - HIT and the Maple Leafs/Blackhawks Over - HIT. I really like this under in this game tonight.

Bucks ML / Blazers ML (-107) - Bucks lost to the Heat in Miami earlier this season but then they beat up on them pretty good in their second meeting winning 124-86. *eye contact* yes, I like the Bucks to go in and win this game straight up tonight. Dwayne Wade is questionable to play and if he’s out I’m even more confident. The Heat have been claiming that defense wins championships lately but they have allowed their opponents to score 110+ in 3 of their last 5 games and it won’t get any easier tonight when the second best ranked offense Bucks come in averaging 117 a game. Go Bucks! The Blazers have been playing good ball and have won 7 of their last 10 games and 6 of their last 8 road games. They are 2-0 against the Pelicans this season and have beat them by 10+ each time. The Blazers are currently battling for home court advantage in the playoffs and this game is one of the “cupcake” opponents they have left on their schedule so this is a must win for them.
