3/28 Opening Day Picks

OPENING DAY! How bout that, baseball is back! MLB is and always has been our most successful sports so let the season begin! +43 units last year and our third straight MLB season at 60%+. Some of you will disagree with some of the picks but I never force anyone to bet the picks so you can do what you want. We won’t bet anything more than -200 but keep in mind that valuable -170s add up. We bet based on matchups not odds. Our results continue to prove that the system works - $1,000 on every MLB pick last year profited $43,000. PLAY FUCKING BALL! MLB: Remember - include “pitcher must start for action” on all MLB picks of your site requires that. Mets / Nats - No runs in the first - Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer will be going today and they have dominated the top half of the opposing lineups. deGrom has held the Nats top half to a .229 avg in 61 at bats and Scherzer has held the Mets top half to a .228 avg in 57 at bats. The one thing you really worry about in these kind of bets are homeruns and although it’s kind of scary that Conforto has 4 career homeruns against Scherzer, I’ll tip my cap if any of these guys hit a homerun in their first at bat of the season against one of these top pitchers. Blue Jays (Stroman) (-130) - I bet you didn’t think the Blue Jays would be on our opening day slate but here we are. The Jays lineup comes in with a .308 avg in 39 at bats against Zimmerman. Not a huge sample size but enough for me. Especially with the numbers Jays starter Marcus Stroman has against the Tigers - .189 avg in 37 at bats. Cubs (Lester) (-128) - The Cubs won 95 games last year but lost the Division tiebreaker game. People forget the Cubs won 95 games last year. Lester gets the ball today and only 4 Rangers have ever faced him, they have 94 career at bats and have a .234 avg against him. Only 2 Cubs have seen Rangers starter Mike Minor but this Cubs lineup is healthy and hungry. I like the Cubs today. Red Sox (Sale) (-1.5) - The defending champs are back and they have a rested Chris Sale which translates to free money in the sportsgambling language. Sale has held the Mariners to a .179 avg in 67 at bats. He shut them out last June and had 13 strikeouts. Marco Gonzales pitched that same game for the Mariners and got pounded for 5 earned runs in 6 innings. Sox come in hitting .316 in a small sample size against him but this one should be a similar result to last years matchup in June that the Sox won 5-0. NHL: Capitals (+120) - plus money for the Caps tonight who just beat the same opponent 4-1 on Tuesday night. They also beat the Hurricanes in the first two meetings this season 3-1 and 6-5 so they are now 3-0 against the Hurricanes and have outscored them 13-7. That just goes to show that the Capitals are a better team and they can officially clinch a Playoff berth with a win tonight. This line seems like a bluff from Vegas but as of this morning, it’s not working because 77% of the public money is on the Caps. Once we all get locked in it’ll probably shoot to 80%. Caps are the better team. Go Caps! NCAAB: Tennessee (-125) - Both of these teams come in to this game with losing records against Top 25 ranked opponents this season. They also come in off of very different games. Purdue ran away with a big win against Villanova in a game that was never close and Tennessee is coming off of a game in which they blew a 25 point lead but came away with a 6 point win in overtime over Iowa. I think Tennessee will benefit from the close game that they had where Purdue has cruised in their first two games. Why will Tennekee benefit? Close game, adrenaline, executing under pressure which is exactly what they will need to do in crunch time tonight. Go Vols! Michigan (-125) - Texas Tech has looked great in their first two games but the competition level hasn’t really been much of a challenge for them. They were just 2-2 against Top 25 opponents in the regular season while Michigan was 7-2 with both losses coming to their rival Michigan State who has a pretty damn good team this year. Michigan has dominated teams who aren’t Michigan State since the middle of February and they won’t be playing Michigan State tonight. I’m not saying Michigan will blow Texas Tech our but Im confident they will get the win because they have played tougher competition all season and they are the better team here. That number 2 ranked defense for Michigan is a nice thing to have on your side when betting as well.
