4/11 VIP Picks

2-2 last night, bad news the Lightning were up 3-0 after the first period but good news we went 2-0 in baseball. We have more baseball today as well as NHL and The Masters. For you new guys, I’m a round matchup kind of guy and I don’t get into all the future and prop bets - not many people make money when they are betting 20+ prop and future bets.

Round 1 Matchups:

11:00 EST

Tiger Woods over Jon Rahm (-115) - This will be Rahms third time playing in The Masters and he has posted a 73 and 75 in the first round. Tiger hasn’t posted a first round score more than 73 since 2005 and granted he hasn’t played every year but he has still played in 10 Masters since then. I like Tiger to beat Rahm today and it’s great value at -115.

1:35 EST

Dustin Johnson over Jason Day (-145) - Jason Day took last week off due to an injury to get ready for this week. DJ has finished in the Top 10 at The Masters the last three years while Day has only had one Top 10 finish at Augusta in the last five years. Day has only shot under par 2 times in the first round at The Masters since 2011. I’ll take DJ to come out and post a number today.

12:35 EST

A’s (Brooks) (-150) - The A’s have outscored the Orioles 23-5 in the last two nights. The over under is 9 in this game and one team has covered the over themselves in each game of this series but I’m more confident in the A’s going up against Dylan Bundy and his 7.36 earned run average today. Piscotty, Davis, and Morales make up the meat of this lineup and they have all taken Bundy deep before. Aaron Brooks gets the start for the A’s and only two Orioles have ever face him so there isn’t much head to head history to go off of. Brooks did hold the Red Sox (who led the league in runs scored per game last season) to 2 hits in 6 innings in his first start of the season. I like the A’s to close this series out with a win today.

1:15 EST

Dodgers (Buehler) (-128) - Where should we start in this one? Walker Buehler will start for the Dodgers and he has held this Cardinals lineup to a .140 avg in 43 at bats with 17 strikeouts. In his last game against the Cardinals on Sep 14 last year, he went 8 innings and only allowed 2 hits. The Dodgers come in with great success against Cardinals starter Michael Wacha in the past and have a .370 avg in 73 at bats. The Cardinals pitching has held this Dodgers lineup down in the first three games of this series but Wacha has been hit hard by this lineup in the past and I think it will happen again today. Wacha pitched back to back games against this similar Dodgers lineup in May of 2017 and they scored 10 runs in 7 innings against him. Dodgers should come out swinging today and Buehler should continue the success he has had against this Cardinals lineup. Does Vegas not look at these matchups as closely as we do? Dodgers should be ATLEAST -175. We will take the -128.

Bruins (-145) - Neither one of these teams played very good going into the playoffs with the Bruins losing 3 of their last 5 and the Leafs losing 4 of their last 5. The Bruins won the season series 3-1 this season including a 5-1 win and a 6-3 win. Both of these big wins came in the two games that were played in Boston. Game 1 will be in Boston tonight and the Garden will be rocking. Tuukka Rask will start in net for the Bruins and he had 32 saves on 34 shot attempts in his last game against the Leafs on Jan 12. I like the Bruins to open up this series with a win at home.

Capitals (-150) - The Caps will start the road to their title defense and they should control this first series. The Caps went 4-0 against the Hurricanes in the regular season and they had two wins by 2 goals or more. Caps goalie Braden Holtby has held the Canes to 2 goals or less in 3 of the 4 head to head meetings. YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE CAPS!? Caps take Game 1 at home.
