4/13 VIP Picks

4-2 yesterday since Newcomb did not start for the Braves, we sweep golf but then take Ls from the Lightning and Jets (two teams who are FUCKED). A winning day but I was feeling greedy yesterday and wanted 6-0. Let’s see what we have to make a run at an undefeated Saturday!

PGA:

12:05 EST

Jordan Spieth (-0.5) over Kevin Tway - This is just the second Masters for Tway and he didn’t make the cut last year. Spieth on the other hand has 4 Top 10 finishes at The Masters in his first 6 and he’s won this thing before. Spieth is comfortable with this course and seeing he has posted 64 multiple times here shows that. Spieth shot 4 under yesterday and I think he will be aggressive again today to put himself in position for tomorrow. I like him to win this matchup against Tway today.

2:05 EST

Tiger Woods (-0.5) over Ian Poulter - Tiger is alive and he’s making a run at this thing as he’s just 1 shot off the lead. A couple of putts on Thursday and he could have the lead by a few strokes. He shot -4 yesterday while Poulter shot -1. Poulter doesn’t have great history in the 3rd round at The Masters with scores of 74, 82, 75, & 76. 13 Top 10 finishes for Tiger here and he has his eyes set on a 1st place finish this weekend. Look for Tiger to go low today and Poulters 3rd round history to repeat itself.

MLB:

3:07 EST

Rays (Snell) (-1.5) - The moneyline is at -190 so the run line seems to be the play in this one at even money. The Rays are 11-3 overall this season and they are 11-3 covering the run line. Blake Snell takes the ball against this Jays lineup who ranks 27th in the league for team batting avg at .202 on the season. I don’t predict no hitters but Snell has a shot against this lineup who he has held to a .125 avg in 48 at bats. Clay Buchholz will start for the Jays and only 2 Rays hitters have more than 2 at bats against him. It really hasn’t mattered who the Rays have faced this year, they just find a way to get it done and I think that’s exactly what they will do today.

6:10 EST

Phillies (Eflin) (-160) - The Phillies were good to us last night and they have another favorable matchup tonight against the Marlins. Zach Eflin will start for the Phillies and he has held this Marlins lineup to a .211 avg in 57 at bats. The Phillies haven’t seen much of Marlins starter Caleb Smith but they have had success in a small sample size. The Phillies put up 9 last night and I think they will swinging the stick again today. Go Phils!

NHL:

Capitals (-165) - The Caps are now 5-0 against the Hurricanes this season and Braden Holtby has held the Hurricanes to 2 or less goals in four straight games. Bigger moneyline for a playoff game but I’m taking it. I will take the Caps until the Canes prove they can beat them and I don’t think that’ll happen today.

NBA:

5:00

Magic (+8.5) - I was thinking about moneyline here but I’ll take the higher percentage play with the +8.5. The Magic split the season series with the Raptors 2-2. Their two wins were impressive with final scores of 116-87 and 113-98 although Lowry missed one and Kawhi missed one. Then one of their losses to the Raptors cane by just 2 points in a 93-91 loss. Time for some stats you probably only know if you’re a Magic fan. The Magic finished the season on a 22-9 run and they have the second most wins in the NBA since Jan 30th. 65% of the public are taking the Raptors to cover in this one but I think this game will be close and I like the Magic to cover if not win.

Early sweep will equal a bonus play cross sport parlay that is good value. I don’t have the exact stats for cross sport parlays but we are like 15-1 in 2019.

LFG!
