Ranking the Same City Parlays for 4/17/19

This time of year always gives bettors a shot at betting on cross sport parlays with multiple teams from their cities playing with the overlap of the MLB, NBA, and NHL season. As a sportsbettor, there is nothing better than having your teams sweep and winning a parlay on them. Let’s take a look at the same city cross sport parlays and rank them for tonight (moneylines only no spreads or over unders).

Ranking the potential Same City Cross Sport Parlays 4/17

1.

Houston:

Rockets (-290) / Astros (-115) - (+151) - This one has to be the best one out there tonight. The Rockets will host the Jazz in Game 2 and they beat them by 32 points in Game 1. Sure the Jazz will make some adjustments but I’m not sure it will be enough against the Rockets who have averaged 127.4 points per game over their last 5 games. The Astros will take on the Oakland A’s and Frankie Montas who they come in with a .361 avg in 61 at bats. Wade Miley will pitch for the Stros and he went 5.2 scoreless innings against the A’s on April 6th. If you are looking for the same city parlay that is most likely to hit tonight, Houston Rockets and Houston Astros at (+151) is your play.

2.

Boston:

Red Sox (+105) / Celtics (-320) / Bruins ML (-105) - (+425) - Boston parlays seem to come up every year with the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots always in contention, they don’t call it Titletown for nothing. This one tonight pays out +425 with both the Red Sox and Bruins as minor underdogs in their matchups. The Red Sox bats have been struggling and their matchup tonight won’t make it any easier on them. They have struggled against J.A. Happ and come in with just a .214 avg in 201 at bats. The bright side in this matchup is Mookie and Steve Pearce have 8 combined homeruns against Happ and the fact that Nathan Eovaldi has dominated the Yankees (even though some of these guys are minor leaguers filling in for the Yanks). Next up will be the Celtics who will host the Pacers in Game 2 after they won Game 1 in what was a display of defense for both teams. They won 84-74 and I think they will have a similar approach tonight that will lead to a similar result. The Bruins will be looking to tie the series up at two against the Maple Leafs who won Game 3 3-2. The difference in that game was 2 power play goals for the Leafs and the B’s power play kill was 80% in the regular season. Look for the B’s to come out with a sense of urgency tonight in what is a must win game for them. +425 for these matchups seems about right with how the Sox have been playing and the tough matchup that the B’s will have. Regardless, this one is still ranked #2 on the list and the real LOCK is that I’ll be playing it.

3.

Toronto:

Maple Leafs (-115) / Blue Jays (+145) - (+358) - Toronto has the Leafs who are slight favorites tonight and the Blue Jays who are underdogs. The Leafs will look to feed off of the energy in the building from their home crowd and look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. IF Frederik Andersen plays like he did in Game 3, the Leafs will have a great chance to win this game tonight. The Jays will be up against Jake Odorizzi who comes in 0-2 with a 6. Most of the Jays will be happy about that matchup other than Justin Smoak who is 2-21 lifetime against Odorizzi. The Jays have won the first two games of this series so they could very easily win this game tonight. If this parlay hits, both Toronto teams will win their third game of their current series. Ranking this one as #3.

4.

Detroit:

Tigers (+101) / Pistons (+1100) - (+2312) - I mean, there’s wishful thinking and then there’s this. The Piston will be without their best player Blake Griffin and they lost Game 1 of this series against the Bucks by 35. The spread is -15 in this one tonight and I wouldn’t be putting my money on the Pistons to cover that, never mind the moneyline. Do we even bother breaking down the Tigers game? Ok, I’ll make it quick. The Tigers have lost 4 games in a row and they will be up against Trevor Williams who is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA. I wouldn’t touch either one of these teams tonight. Actually, even if I was a die hard Detroit fan, I would bet against both of my teams tonight.
