Cubs (Hamels) (-150) - The Rockies have won the first two games of this series but I think the Cubs are going to take this one today. They will have Cole Hamels pitching who has held this Rockies lineup to a .242 avg in a large sample size of 165 at bats. Hamels comes in 5-2 on the season with a 3.24 earned run average. The Cubs will face Antonio Senzatela who they have a .333 avg in 39 at bats. Let’s Go Cubs!
Astros (Verlander) (-128) - Love the value on this one, anytime we can get Verlander at -150 or better I consider that stealing money. I know, Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff comes in 8-1 but he has been roughed up a few times this season. This Astros lineup has never faced him before so there is no history there. We typically bank on Verlander when we take him and that’s what we are doing with this pick tonight. He has held this Brewers lineup to a .219 avg in 146 at bats. Mike Moustakas and Lorenzo Cain make up over 100 of those at bats from their days against Verlander in the AL Central. Cain has been good against Verlander but that’s about it for the Brew Crew. I like Verlander to dominate and the Astros to get him the run support he needs like they have done in 11 of his 14 starts this season.
Bruins (-175) - 5X JACKHAMMER - Risk 5 to win 2.85. A big boy bet tonight. Big moneyline but let’s hop on it with the Bruins playing a Game 7 at home tonight. It didn’t look good for the Bruins after they were fixed out of Game 5 with a non call but they went on the road and got a convincing win in Game 6. If a trip is called in Game 5, this series would likely already be over. Sure, 4 of their goals in Game 6 came in the third period but 5-1 is still 5-1. The energy in the Garden is going to be on another level tonight. Who will be there for the pre-game? Tom Brady in an Ortiz jersey? A picture of David Ortiz on the big screen? Tom Brady screaming LET’S GO in the hype video? Gronk spike? I’m sure the media group will have something that will take the roof off of the building. The Bruins will feed off of that energy and get out to an early start tonight. It’s all about the early start for the B’s tonight. The Bruins have scored the first goal in 3 of the 6 games in this series. They won two of those games and outscored the Blues 12-3 in the two that they won when scoring the first goal. The Bruins have a 25-1 playoff record when Brad Marchand scores a goal so he better be getting the fucking puck on net tonight. The B’s will be backed by Tuukka again tonight and he has been tremendous during this playoff run. The Stanley Cup Finals have gone to Game 7 17 times and the home team has won 12 of them (71%). That’s because the home team is typically the better team. The Bruins are the better team and they will win tonight. They don’t call it Titletown for nothing, LET’S. FUCKING. GO.
