3-0 last night and 4-0 in the last two days! All great value last night with the under, Leafs -1.5, and of course the Capitals at +130 was a nice boost to start the NHL season. Let’s keep building on the streak tonight with more MLB Playoff action, NFL, and NHL! Koooooofsports!
Rams (+7.5) / Over (43.5) - Let’s start talking about the over in this one before we get to the side. Both of these defenses have allowed 25+ points in half of their games. The other half of their games were played against struggling offenses. Neither one of these offenses are struggling this season as they both come into tonight’s matchup ranked in the Top 10 - the Rams are averaging 29.2 points per game and the Seahawks are averaging 25.8 points per game. I think this will be more of an offensive game than the majority of the Thursday Night games this season. I get it that the Rams just got torched by the Bucs last week but before that, they were 2-0 on the road and also beat the same Breesless Saints team that beat the Seahawks in Seattle. That was the only Seahawks L this season but they barely beat the Bengals and Steelers who are cellar dwellers of the league this season. I like taking our chances with the Rams at +7.5 on this teaser.
Cardinals / Braves Under (9) - Neither team has had much success against the opposing starting pitchers in this one. Mikolas has held this Braves lineup to a .235 avg in 102 at bats. Mikolas has gone 6 straight starts allowing 3 earned runs or less. This young Braves lineup was only able to score 2 total runs combined in their 3 losses to the Dodgers in last years’ playoffs. The sample size is smaller for Keuchel against the Cardinals but he had a 6 game streak down the stretch where he pitched 6 innings or more while allowing 2 runs or less. Behind the starters we have the #5 ranked bullpen for the Cardinals and the #11 bullpen for the Braves. I like under 9 in this game as we’ve seen these young Braves show signs of nerves under the bright lights last year.
Dodgers (Beuhler) (-165) - The Nats come into this game with momentum from their crazy win in the Wild Card Game the other night but the Dodgers are ready and the Dodgers are the better team. Sometimes you see teams sit back and relax at the end of the season when they clinch early but the Dodgers won 8 of their final 10 games. Clayton Kershaw was penciled in to start this game but it will be Walker Buehler now that the Nats will be going with their 3 starter, Patrick Corbin. Buehler comes in 14-4 on the season with a 3.26 ERA and let’s be honest, this Nats lineup looked lost at the plate the other night against pitchers worse than Buehler. Patrick Corbin was good this year as well going 14-7 but he’s coming off of a rough outing where he allowed 6 earned over 4.1 innings to the Indians. That was a meaningless game but you still want to perform well in your final tuneup for the playoffs. Both of these pitchers pitched 7 scoreless innings against the opposing lineup this season so the under might not be a bad play but I’m going with the Dodgers moneyline at home in Game 1 tonight.
Predators (-170) - The Preds open up the season looking to win their third straight Central Division title against the Wild who finished in last place of the Central Division last season. The Preds traded defenseman P.K. Subban in the off-season but that allowed them to sign center Matt Duchene who is coming of a career high 31 goal season. He will add a nice boost to the offense that only averaged 2.9 goals per game last season. Nashville went 5-1 in the preseason and they were great at home last season sporting a 25-14-2 record at Bridgestone Arena. The Preds also swept the season series 4-0 against the Wild last season although they only covered the puck line once. That’s why the moneyline is the play in this one!
A Dodgers ML / Predators ML pays (+155) 👀
